Doc Bales' Grill
We did the Buffett on Saturday, the regular Buffett was 40 bucks and the seafood Buffett was 60. The food looked really good, but it tasted the polar opposite of how it looked. Nothing was seasoned and everything was dry. Not worth the 150 dollars I spent after tip. Also, I stayed the night in the hotel. The waiter didn’t even ask me if was staying in the hotel so I could save 15 bucks. That would have eased the sting of wasting over a hundred dollars on meal that my wife and I truly hated.
Very nice. First date debut. But not the last, partly due to the venue of the 1st. A great restaurant. Superb all the way around, Service, Food, Ambiance you name it...... Great for a first date or 50th wedding anniversary......
The food was amazing and the waiter was awesome. Thanks for the bday love!!
Great food, super and friendly service. Would eat there again.
We attended Doc Bales for a special buffet dinner for a smooth jazz weekend. The buffet had excellent selections, we were seated in the outside area which was very pleasant. The big memory is that Sean was our server and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially on weekends for the seafood buffet.
Food and service were very good.
Ceasar was an excellent waiter and took really good care of us. Will definitely be back.
The food was average, not much to select from, prime rib was tough only ate one serving for each of us.
Amazing Sunday brunch!! Very enjoyable and affordable.
Very pleasantly surprised. Excellent selection on the buffet and expertly prepared. More than worth the cost. I am sorry it has taken me so long to find this place. Definitely coming back. A 10 in my book....
Breakfast Buffet at Doc Bales is always great. Great selection and lots of hot, fresh food.
Great place. Can’t wait to get back. Great value. View was amazing.
Great crab legs were great but other items were mediocre. The prime rib was fair and the lobster bisque was downright bad. “Salad bar “ had lettuce, tomato, and carrots only.
Awesome! Great service and food! Window seat with an ocean view was nice!
Great oceanfront view. A lot of food variety. . Well prepared. Great brunch. Would highly recommend.
We had a great time .
The service and ambiance was super.
The menu have many varieties for adults and kids, and the staff were very friendly.
Nora the Manager also came and checked on us to make sure we were happy.
We celebrated my sister birthday, and the servers made it super memorable for us .
Thank you so much Nora and the Good Noura and the Restaurant team
We will be back for another stay soon.
The buffet outside of the crab legs were over priced. I ate one potato and a few shrimp for $39.99. I’d have rather just ate the crab legs, as that was the bulk of my meal. I understand the prices were separate, but made to seem as if combined. The crab legs were awesome!
Food was mediocre. Paid 14.95 for what I get at any other hotel for free. Then it was 21.95 to also get biscuits and gravy in addition.
The crab legs are always a favourite, we enjoy visiting with friends or just the 2 of us,we love the boardwalk and beach views
Overall the food was pretty good, however they did not have a real good selection of options for those who may not like seafood on the buffet.
The dessert options looked wonderful, but looks were deceiving as they did not really taste that good. Kinda sad.
The service was excellent and made our visit very worth the time.
The seafood bar and all you can eat crab legs are The best ever!
I would think for a $129.00 buffet for two with crab legs they would serve drawn butter for them. The 'butter' was gross, not sure what they used but it was cheap margarine like substance. Would not go back.
The food and service were both outstanding! The buffet was an amazing value for all that you get!
The sweetest crab legs I have ever tasted. Didn't even need to use butter. Other than the all you can eat crab legs the selection of other seafood was limited, but everything they did have was awesome. We will be dining there often.
By far the best crab legs on a buffet I have ever had. The service from the front desk to the server was excellent!! The price was great and I will go again!
I loved our server my apologies for not remembering her name, but she was a new server that we had for Sunday brunch on 6/30. The server was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable despite being her first day. I will say that the cooks and food attendants do need a bit of training. As a leader at a JW Marriott I felt they were not welcoming by any means. The cook making our omelets has her back to us the whole time. We had to get her attention to place an order which she felt bothered. The room where the food was a bit warm as well, however the experience overall was made up by our server. From one hospitality leader to another I would say everyone needs to ensure they make guests feel welcome or it can hurt the service metrics.
The hotel is beautiful and so was our service. The food is seriously lacking in flavor and doesn’t even taste as good as Golden Corral or Duffs Buffet. All of the hot fish was cold, flavorless, and dried out . The temperature in the dining room was so hot that all of the guests (including me and my companion) were sweating so profusely thst the manager had to bring out an oscillating portable stand fan to cool it off. Too bad the room was hotter than the food ...
I will not be going back here again —— $100 down the drain for nothing.
We came for Father's Day. My husband and I have been before but my mom hasn't. Unfortunately we came on a night that the air conditioning was. Broken it was very hard for her being very warm. I have to say also if you are a seafood lover its great BUT there needs to be more options for people who do not eat fish as myself i found paying 40 was alot for prime riband potatoes. At least add maybe add a pasta dish. Or an additional soup with no fish. This trip there was very dissapointing
My waiter was not very attentive. Often ignored me and I had to ask for service two times.
False advertising!!!! I was attending function in the hotel ball room with a couple of friends. Went on line to look at the restaurant choices in the hotel. Doc Bales had a very nice menu with a variety of options so we chose it to meet for a drink and a bite before the event. When we arrive we asked to see the menu and was told there was, only a buffet available. I asked about the menu I saw on their site and was told that it was only available Monday through Thursday. Not good!!!!!! So we left and went to another restaurant, Hyde Park Grille which was very accommodating and a nice variety appetizers and small bites. Just what we were looking for. Solomon if ever in the Hilton on Daytona Beach, go to Hyde Park......not Doc Bales...
Weekend getaway for Hubby’s bday.
Doc Bales was a good restaurant! The food was really good and plentiful, also cooked perfectly! The restaurant was well appointed and the crab legs were amazing! All you can eat Friday and Saturday! The wait staff was great and so was the manager! We would eat there again! Great trip!
Great and waiter was also very good.
Way to over priced for the quality. Not as formal of a restaurant as advertised.
We had a coupon 2 for $90. The crab legs were great and the seafood mac and cheese. We would go again when there is a another coupon.
Great brunch buffet setup, cool eating brunch and looking at the Atlantic Ocean, valet parking was convenient too!! Keep up the good work!!!
It was a redo for my daughter’s birthday which was March 1. They did an amazing job making us feel welcome and loved
Beautiful oceanfront location in the Hilton. Not able to order from the normal menu, buffet only. One person in our party only wanted a salad but was forced to spend $40 for the full buffet. Food hit or miss. Lobster bisque was wonderful, fried grouper overcooked and dry. Most other dishes good but not great. Good dessert selection but desserts not labeled so you're left guessing.
Not worth the $29.95. Only one Mimosa with food. Small selection of food.
Service was wonderful, we actually went twice because we had vouchers. Wouldn't pay for it though. Cold prime rib, mediocre selection.. Meh.
