The service was great, drinks were just right and the food is outstanding! We started with the Ahi Tartare which had the perfect spice profile (it's a good kind of hurt), I had the pork chop which was the 2nd best I've ever had (best was at Mustards Grill in Napa), my guest had the Duck L'orange..she gave me a bite and I don't think my life will ever be the same. Unbelievably good!
Great food, Friendly staff, Great wines, Amazing oysters.
We had a brunch here for a gathering with friends. The service was great and the seats were comfy. The Reaturant is decorated with old diner version of French which very attractive. The food are amazing even thought for a croissant sandwich, very delicious. The drinks are fantastic but only have a few choices. Definitely will be back for more.
Really Pathetic service & food; nice space, great music.
Arrived at 9:20 for 9:45 reservation.
Seated at 11:15
Appetizers arrived at 11:30.
Drinks arrived (after second request) at 11:35.
Date went directly to bar for second drink at 11:50.
Entrees arrived cold at 12 midnight.
Another server noticed entrees were not being eaten.
Plates taken away at 12:15.
Billed for appetizers and one entree.
Pathetic is the only word.....
Ambiance was great, service was excellent and wine & food were delish...neighborhood hot spot. Sat at the bar while waiting for our table and the bar tender explained the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We'll be back!
Busboys were great but waiter never answered a question he told us he would ask the chef. Weirdly couldn’t sell oysters in pairs, only by 3. Never explained which oysters were which. Great sommelier. Waiter interrupted conversation then never checked in.
Overall pretty good...The menu is change time to time. Not able to get my fav salad this time...The steak was little too salty n the black bass was not as fresh as expected. But previous dinning experience was excellent.
Service was a little slow. Had to wait for our drinks a little too long. Music was VERY loud, so it was hard to have a conversation. Food was good. Not sure we will go back.
My husband and I loved our night at Dirty French! He got the spicy pork chop (which was more sweet and flavorful than "spicy" IMO.) I got the trout which was also delicious. We also really loved the ambiance.
We brought friends for the first time. My husband is French, and we live in France as does the couple that we brought with us. Chae has been our favorite server throughout the years so we were pleasantly surprised that it was she that greeted us when we arrived and served not only fantastic favorites, new favorites but her signature wit as well. We sincerely just love the place. Always the last ones to leave.
Absolutely delightful lunch! Everyone was very friendly. Delicious!
Y’all were awesome. Monkey 47. Love it
I have had dinner at Dirty French several times before and have really enjoyed it. However, I had never been there for lunch and would not come back at this time of the day. We were the only table they were serving (late another table was served) and while service was impeccable, food choices were limited and not amazing. Starters were delicious...main dishes were just ok.
Try dinner...I have had great experiences at night.
I took my mom here for brunch as she is a Francophile and I had heard good things about the restaurant. The free pastries and such they first brought out were delicious but the service was lackluster- our water glasses would sit empty- and we were the ONLY PEOPLE in the entire restaurant for 1/3 of our meal! My duck hash was delicious but my mom's omelet (of which, it is the most basic and important dish to master in France) was less than impressive and very bland. The decor was very pretty though and people watching through the window, and inside the restaurant, was entertaining.
Fantastic restaurant. Cocktails thoughtfully curated. The food was outstanding. The service was attentive. 10/10
The appetizers where really good, the main courses could have been better but the restaurant is worth going to, it has a great vibe
Phenomenal as always. The bread and duck a l’orange never disappoint.
Not too good
I expected a better lunch menu. Not outstanding. Beautiful decor with nice lounge area and fireplace.
Was happily impressed with the restaurant. We were seated promptly at the time of the reservation. Waiter was friendly and available when we needed attention. Good drinks and very good food. Was a fun atmsophere. The hanger stak was very good as was the spicy pork chop. Post dinner drinks in the back garden was good way to transition from dinner. Recommend
Great food and great ambiance!
Very militant liberal - I made a comment about how well the president is doing, and the waitress stormed off. Snowflakes.
My husband and I were visiting New York and made a reservation at Dirty French for our anniversary. The host and servers made sure we had an excellent table and took steps to ensure we had a special night. The service and food were excellent. We would absolutely go back next time we are in the city.
Had to make theater time. They were aware
Of it and made our dining experience pleasurable without extra anxiety.
Great food, but overpriced for what it is. The hangar steak is just a steak, no sides for $38.
Unbearably loud, food took forever to arrive. When it did, wasn't that exciting.
Lovely hotel restaurant, hip and modern, very hipster frequented, very good food if on the high price point - a NYC experience. Our appetizers shared by a table of 4 were delicious and certainly enough for us. The tuna tartare and the charcuterie board were ver tasty and beautifully presented. Entrees just as good, trout, duck, and steak all excellent served a la carte so side dishes must be ordered separately. Place is fun but way too loud for conversation, not only the noise level but the music they blast makes the place difficult to engage in conversation without yelling.
Dirty French is a treat!! For the eye and for the palate. You are transported as soon as you enter!! Staff is lovely. And accomodating. Food is yummy. Pricing can get up there but worth it. Enjoy this experience!!
The food was good but a quite salty. I found the menu was pretty limited and not a lot of vegetarian options. The atmosphere was energetic and the appetizers were very good.
The food was good. Service was fair. Wine was very pricy and not that great. Bottles of wine are all $100 plus! I would appreciate a less expensive option. I thought they were patronizing.
Go! Great jazz brunch.
By far the best restaurant in New York City!!! Absolutely delicious food and a staff that makes you feel so welcome. Don’t miss out on this experience, we keep going back again and again
Fantastic food and warm and impeccable service- truly outstanding!!!
I had been to Dirty French previously- almost 2 yrs ago and did not remember the food as being remarkable.. but this past Saturday, it was a WOW..Everything was delicious,
Texture, flavor! Service was attentive and knowledgeable and the Somelier guided us to good wine decisions. Our out of town friends were impressed and definitely enjoyed!
Service was great but food was completely soaked in butter and salt. One of the worst culinary experiences I have ever had in NYC.
Fantastic staff. Have lived in NYC for 15 years and this was one of the best meals I’ve had. The saddle of lamb was exceptional.
went to dirty french first time for dinner when they just opened. in love with their millefeuille and chicken & crepe. probably one of the best mushroom and chicken dishes we had in our life. went back again, and ordered the same dishes. millefeuille still as good as we remember but not so much with the chicken. they motified the dish to duo preparations: roast and fried. half of the roast chicken was still excellent but the other half fried chicken just tasteless and boring. the chicken has no neither seasoning nor brining. we were surprised that they would go with fried chicken when "sweet chick" is just next door which is one of the best fried chicken in the city. hope they will bring back the whole roast chicken with whole the feet!
The grilled oysters are delicious.
The table bread is scrumptious.
The beignets to die for.
Great 80’s background music.
Attentive helpful servers.
Loved it all and will be back!
Great food. Great Service. Great room/design. Great soundtrack.
