For the second time, my dining experience at Dio Deka was disappointing. The ambiance despite outside only dining was acceptable, but again the food was less than so-so.
This prices certainly demand better quality. Charges for split plates and surcharges not noted beforehand also detracted from the overall experience. The wine list even during this COVID time is ridiculously high.
I will think twice before returning to this restaurant which I had enjoyed on several prior occasions.

Loved the “ new” outdoor space. Service was excellent. They were always checking on us and ensuring we had a great experience. My fish Benzino was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The drinks are on the pricey side.

We have been coming here for years and wanted to dine here for Valentines Day. The service was very rushed. I felt like it was a race to get us out of there. We ordered our bottle of wine with dinner and the waiter asked if we wanted the bill when we said we couldn't order more food because we were full. He came back 3 times to ask for the bill despite my full glass of wine. As newlyweds, we wanted to enjoy our first Valentine's day dinner, however being rushed to finish dinner within 30-45 minutes was an uncomfortable and frustrating dining experience. I understand the need to turn over tables, but with half the tables being empty, it felt rude to be rushed.

We are a very middle class couple, and $200 is not something we spend all the time on a dinner. My husband and I hadn't been on a date in a year (because of the pandemic) so this was an outing we really were excited about. The waiter was very difficult to understand, he told us the specials and tried to up-sell something to add to the filet mignon that I ordered. Because he was so hard to understand, I didn't add that to the meal because I had no idea how much it was going to add to the bill. We could definitely feel his judgement on our "small" bill - the $200 I mentioned was for an appetizer, two entrees, and a side (no drinks, no dessert). I'm not complaining about the price, we planned on spending about that much. He bragged to us his excitement for selling something very expensive to the table behind us (where he spent much of his time while we waited for our order to be taken), then we could hear him bragging about another table that "just came in for dessert" and spent $39,000. To say the least, it was a bit uncomfortable and even though the food was good I don't think we'll be back which maybe doesn't matter since we only spent a measly $100/person.

Outdoor dining environment, wait staff Danny, and food transported us to Greece for the evening. Have so missed dining out. This evening felt like a luxury and was a much needed break from covid shelter in place. We were safe with distancing and other protocols, warm from the heaters, and nourished by the delicious food.

Wonderful server Athos, very engaging and helpful, loved the Pre-appetizer and the beautifully prepared spanakopita,, the lamb, both fish dishes, excellent. Very expensive for sitting in a makeshift space for covid. All delicious however. Try to eat in the middle of the dining rather than street side.

We had the pleasure of dining at Dio Deka last Saturday and Sunday evening. We were staying at Hotel Los Gatos and had a reservation for Sunday but decided to see if we could get in on Saturday last minute... even though they were very busy... they squeezed us in. I heard wonderful things about Chef Kevin and I couldn’t wait to dine here and he didn’t disappoint!! Both nights our experience at this charming restaurant was excellent! Starting from Service... Saturday with Jeremy and Sunday with Daniele. Both took very good care of us and both went over and beyond. The food, wine & cocktails were absolutely Amazing!

Some of my favorites-

Starters

Warm pita bread - Yum!

Grilled Octopus - very flavorful and tender, not chewy. Craving it right now!

Scallops- perfectly cooked and delicious.

Crab Cake - I am not a fan of crab cakes. The few times I have had them they are so dry and bland, but not this one! You actually taste the crab and tastes so fresh. Delicious!

Village Salad - I ordered both nights. So refreshing with chilled cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, olives, and a block of feta... I know it’s just a salad, but it’s the best!

For the Main course -

Airline Chicken - Mary’s chicken - so tender and with great flavor.

Osso Buco - I heard this was Chef Kevin’s Grandma’s recipe. I didn’t try it but my Hubby said it was 5 stars ⭐️

Truffle Burger - I did try this one and it has to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had!! Tons of flavor!

As for the desserts... I honestly don’t know what each one was but they were all delicious and made to perfection by Chef Enzo 💗

This place is 5 stars all the way! It definitely did not disappoint and I can’t wait to go back!! I highly recommend!

The food was excellent as always at Dio Deka. The service was a bit slower in terms of getting our food to us. Perhaps it was a very busy night for them on Saturday. But our server was great and did everything possible to take care of us through the delay in the food.

The absolute best meal I’ve ever had (maybe my person Er gummies helped 🤷🏼‍♀️)

The porterhouse - each bite was savored for minutes - done perfectly-seasoned perfectly

The salmon - moist (yesss, I said it!) and a flavor that wasn’t over powered by any seasoning or sauce it was absolutely the most perfect salmon I’ve had. Served with butternut squash and faro (which I’ve never had but I am now a fan)

Side of seasonal veggies - all cooked perfectly so as to retain a perfect crispness

The pita and spread trio is always yummy - nom nom

The desert - o-m-g - seriously this chocolate lava-esque cup of absolute divinity

I literally danced in my chair with every bite

A money memorable birthday dinner celebration

But that’s only 1/2 the experience - Daniele is absolutely a pleasure enjoy our meal with.

Jeremy was excellent as a host. Food was great. It was a little cold eating outdoors on a cold evening but the staff made it work with heaters etc.

If you can afford a few extra $$ - Dio Deka is a safe Covid time outdoor “foodie treat” across from Los Gatos High School. Great drink menu and lovely setting.

Food was absolutely amazing. Cocktails were perfect as well. Outdoor ambience and heat lamps made the evening feel perfect and did not feel like we were eating outdoors in the 60 degree temperature. Perfect!

The quality of the fish continues to disappoint. The special (Sea Bass) looked more like tilapia with three very small and very dry fillets.

Because they cater to the ultra rich their dishes are overpriced. Wine selection is great as well as their service so if you are not an ultra rich it’s worth to make a date here once in a while.

Celebrated a birthday. Lovely outdoor fine dining experience. Our waiter was awesome. He even wrote down the recipe for the delicious cocktail I drank that evening. We ate the octopus, the chicken and the lamb chops. All were delicious. I would not hesitate to go again.

Ambiance and service: excellent!
Food: baby portions and high price. Where to start: salty jalapeno spread, octopus as appetizer very vet very small. My moussaka was very dry almost burned. What to say about the baklava: horrible dough

Dio Deka was always a great place for an excellent meal served by professional folks .
These days it is one of the few places where one can get a great meal and feel safe .
Standard of food and service is still excellent!
Not the cheapest place to eat but still a great value.
