Cellar 47 was founded in 1977 by Angelo Grasso, a sugar cane cutter and fruit picker with no hospitality experience, who taught himself the art of great food and service. In 1981, Angelo married Franca, who joined him in the business. Originally located in a cellar at 47 High Street, the name Cellar 47 was born. In 1995, they moved to a larger site where they continue to host memorable events. Today, Angelo and Franca’s children, Bianca and John, manage the business alongside head chef John Romano, continuing the tradition of exceptional meals and service in Shepparton’s CBD. In addition to their signature dishes like the beloved Chicken Pine Nut and Veal Scallopini, Cellar 47 offers a popular range of pizza, pasta and a fast selection of meats, all crafted with the same dedication to quality and flavour that has defined the restaurant for decades.

We've come here several times since moving to the area, and never hesitate to bring along friends and family to experience this little gem. Such a good find and a favourite of ours for good reason: a big list of interesting and yummy pizza; a drinks list with lots of local wine, beer and cider; consistently great service; and an inviting, rustic interior that feel just right, no matter the group size. A real winner!

Exceptional food with beautiful decor, atmosphere, and attentive staff. We had halloumi skewers, slow cooked beef cheek and the Jerusalem artichokes which were a delicious alternative to potatoes.

Beautiful meal on a Wednesday Parma night. Staff accommodating husbands request to change a Parma to just carbonara pasta and I was able to order Parma with vegetables. Service from Bri g seater yo taking out drinks ordered very fast and meals served extremely quickly too. Portion sizes super generous and I found enough had enough left overs to take back to cabin. Very happy to recommend 1895 The Royal
