The opening courses were great, and the Toro presentation was one of the best I had. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. Our next course was a pork belly that lacked flavour and my first bite was a big glob of fat hidden in white sauce that almost made me gag. It was impossible to recover from that. Even the Kobe steak was hardly cooked and way too fatty. My suggestion is request no red meat. At the end we ordered two optional portions, one is a $50 Toro that we were assured is as good as the 3rd course Toro, but turned out nothing like, mainly tasteless and full of rice. We did not finish it. and the last was an optional $25 slice of this highly built up melon that was mediocre and not very sweet. I can a better melon for $10. Overall - meh.

This visit to Spain via The Lakeshore, not far from the water, includes tapas dishes such as Piquilo Peppers Stuffed with a Seafood Mousse and Anisete cream, and Fine Ibérico Spanish Ham. Choose from a large range of slow-cooked paellas, fresh pastas, fish including Basque Style Codfish Stew, and lamb or steak for the meat lovers for your meal.

LaVinia is open for dinner from Tuesday until Sunday.

Terrific menu, especially the tapas. Excellent variety. Service was top notch. Unfortunately, the room is very loud. Probably nothing can be done about this if you are looking for a quiet spot for an excellent meal. You may have to tolerate a lot of background noise from other patrons while you dine. Price is a bit high, but very tasty and well presented.

Lovely server and service. Not rushed, but didn’t wait either. Food was delicious and very generous servings! Highly recommend- we were there for lunch.

Great ambience in an intimate environment with great music and lighting balanced for conversation and enjoyment. Great place for date night. Coctails are the star of the show with each one being a work of art in both the flavor and the presentation. Food menu is meant for sharing and we had nearly one of everything. Loved the steak, cheese board, salad, jerk chicken, seasonal specialty shrimp and cake at the end. Each was presented as a work of art with flavor to match.

This was my fourth time at this restaurant and I will keep coming back. Wonderful high-end Mexican cuisine. I had the rockfish ceviche, which incorporated seared pineapple and cubed coconut; surprising and delicious. Then the braised lamb shank, equally wonderful. Fabulous cocktails too, beautifully presented; I had the fabulous Mezcal Negroni and my companion had the Bendito Dios, which was not only delicious but also a work of art. The decor is lovely as well. But the real highlight of this place is the service, which is truly exceptional; very attentive staff obviously intent on making sure the meal and the experience are flawless...
