Pizzeria Villaggio has been run by the Palladino family for the past 35 years. Borrowing our grandparent's recipes and adopting their love of good simple food combined with the Italian/Welsh values of creating a great family atmosphere, for all age groups has attributed to our success and longevity. The George hotel is a beautiful 400 year old hotel, currently only used as a restaurant. Taken over in 2020, the restaurant is tastefully decorated, adourning wonderful photos of chepstow through the years. The menu boasts an array of fabulous dishes, from the traditional 'pub grub' with our 2 for £16 menu, to our in house dry aged Steaks, cooked to perfection by our chefs or brought out to you on our signature sizzling hot stones. On a Saturday evening, the restaurant comes alive with wonderful live music, starting off with a relaxed vibe whilst you finish off your meal, and a livelier second half to finish off your evening. Finish the week here on a sunday, where we have fast become the place to come for a sunday lunch, with rave reviews and recommendations across the board. With a vast drinks and food menu, the George is the ideal place to come, either for a relaxed lunch for two, an evening out with friends or a large family gathering.

Early Friday evening very quiet in dining area although quite a noisy group in the bar area. Service and food excellent. One rump and one ribeye both done to perfection. Nice price on bottle of house wine and overall pricing very satisfactory.

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived with our dog and were able to sit at our booked table a bit earlier and order easily and quickly. Lots of staff working, all happy and friendly. The bar was busy, as was the restaurant, so some large groups, but all in good humour and lovely to see a pub busy and successful. Our food was really delicious - we did the sharing platter as a starter and it was amazing. Then one chicken dish and one steak, which was very nicely cooked and very tasty. Enjoyed our meal and the pub in general. We have a motorhome and were able to stay overnight in the car park (prior agreed) which was quiet and a good night.
