Omakase experience was excellent Matt our chef was great to talk to throughout the experience. The sushi was outstanding. We also got to pick the brains of another chef as well as ours for local hot spots in the city.

I my family loves their food. It is always good. It is always fresh and sometimes spicy or too spicy by my family likes it anyway so it’s all good. Love the people love the food. Love the ambient.

FareStart's James Beard award-winning model for social change is fueled by our restaurant. We’re located in the heart of Seattle for breakfast/lunch on weekdays (walk-ins only), private events, Guest Chef Nights & other special dining experiences.
Our beloved Guest Chef Night pairs premier local chefs with FareStart students for a 3-course meal served by volunteers. These events occur on Thursday evenings & tickets release at various times throughout the year, with the menu added about a month before the event. These generally sell out quickly, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
FareStart is a social enterprise nonprofit focused on job training and employment. Our restaurant & other food-based businesses serve as classrooms for students to gain culinary skills that prepare them for careers in & beyond the food service industry. Since 1992, we’ve helped more than 15,000 adults & youth work toward stability & economic mobility.

What a wonderful experience at FareStart. We took my mom for her 91st birthday and she was beaming the entire time. The food was delicious from guest chef Sean from La Colline. My brother said the salmon was melt-in-your-mouth and the curing/smoking was perfect, not overpowering at all. I don’t normally like corn chowder but the soup was perfect - creamy and smooth but not cloying. And the dessert was light and lovely. Service was a little slow but then we also weren’t a full party ready to go at the appointed time, so all good. I definitely recommend trying one of these special evenings.

Over and over the Kahn boys and their staff deliver great meals and caring and engaged service. We call this "our spot" You can find us there with friends most Friday nights. This is the local gem, especially the Middle Duck staff.
