Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith.
We also offer cocktails courtesy of Jeffrey Morgenthaler and Benjamin "Banjo" Amberg.

Our Italian and French-influenced menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though his experiences working at Michelin-starred restaurants all over the country.

From Don: At Don’s, you may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might also find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, and popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because the Laurents family makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too. These things are all my favorites.

This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant in the Portland metro area. There is a variety of tasty dishes nicely presented. This last time, we tried the lattuga salad and a pizza (Salsiccia). Salad was well balanced, and the various ingredients blended well. The dressing was just right. The pizza was excellent with a very thin crust. The sausage was very flavorful without overwhelming the other ingredients. We also had dessert. The gelato is always great. I also recommend the soufflé chocolata. Last but not least, the service is always good. Welcoming and attentive without being intrusive.

They gave us free cake for our anniversary, that was really nice of them. If they didn’t run out of prime rib, I probably would’ve given them 5 stars.

My friend and I enjoyed a great evening at Brooklyn Tratoria. Its close to my mom's house and a familiar and favored spot for us in Bethany. We had salad starters and then pasta (Rotating Ravioli $27) and Chicken Madieira ($28) and two glasses of house red wine. We love the atmosphere - relaxed, refined, well lit cool & classy. Our server was fun, super helpful and caring. The owner dropped by to say hello, as he usually does to see how guests are doing (which is rare these days) Going back soon! Stefan L.
