Joan is always so welcoming (and remembered us from two years ago too!). We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner for our 5th wedding anniversary and had great service from Jen.

Mexican
Saint Paul
About the restaurant
Boca Chica Mexican Restaurant has served the flavorful, authentic cuisine of Mexico since 1964. It was then that Guillermo and Gloria Frias opened the doors to their new restaurant that seated only 28 patrons. Today, Boca Chica has grown substantially and is rated "one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Twin Cities," according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine’s March 2018 issue.

The authenticity of the food is maintained by making everything from scratch, the old-fashioned way, with fresh ingredients. Even the fiery salsa is still made with fresh tomatoes, chiles, and that special Frias family touch. Our menu includes some of the more traditional foods such as guisados, sopes, carne asada, chile rellenos, and tamales. Taste is never compromised. We also have a full bar featuring the city’s best selection of Mexican beers and premium tequilas. Voted "Best Margarita" by City Pages.

Food and service were wonderful as always. It was bit loud because it’s a small space and if all tables are full it’s hard to hear people across your own table. We love this restaurant and have been enjoying it for 11 years!

Sushi
Downtown / North Loop
About the restaurant
There are ninety-nine different ways to write “sushi” in the Japanese script of kanji. Each with its own unique interpretation and meaning. It was with great deliberation that our founder, Billy, chose 寿司 to best represent his personal interpretation of the word - Celebration of Fish!

That’s exactly how Billy feels about the art of making sushi and the atmosphere that surrounds it - it should be a celebration! Which is why Billy Sushi is more than just a restaurant, it is an experience for anyone who allows themselves to take part.

A three-ring performance of sorts - sushi bar, sake bar and dining room - brought to life by the performances of sushi chefs, bartenders and servers. And the Ring Master and your host, Billy.

Good descriptions from the waiter of each roll since the options are endless. He also went into detail about the sake types. Great presentation of the food on sushi boats to make it more festive for the table.

It was top notch service. We went for father's day and they had a special menu just for kids and a coloring book and crayons to keep the little one busy and entertained. Food was great! It was pricey but worth it for special celebrations!

Food and drinks were really great! It was nice to try a combination that I wouldn’t ordinarily go for. The crust on the pizzas was fantastic. Our server was great at handling allergies and explaining the restaurant’s allergy procedures.
