About the restaurant
Marino Ristorante is deeply rooted in Hollywood since the late 1950’s when Ciro (Mario to friends) Marino landed in Hollywood and has ever since had generations of who’s who in the movie, record, art, political and business LA community at his tables. Today it is still family owned and given its warm welcome flavor by the second generation of Marinos, Mario in the dining room and brother Sal in the kitchen.

The decor is modern and comfortable with memorabilia from a 60 year career which all come together to create its appeal. Described by many marrying the quintessential NY Italian in Los Angeles for its history coupled with today’s seasonal menu, highlighting the best locally sourced ingredients and top notch freshest seafood available.

Musso and Frank Grill is an iconic dining experience that transports you back to Hollywood's golden age. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by an ambiance that exudes old-world charm, with its classic decor and attentive staff making you feel like a star. The menu is a delightful blend of timeless dishes, with the steak and martinis being particularly noteworthy. However, despite the overall excellence, one aspect that detracts from the experience is the lack of a dress code. For a place with such a rich history and elegant atmosphere, it’s disconcerting to see diners (mostly tourists do this) dressed too casually. Implementing a dress code would enhance the sophisticated environment and ensure that every guest feels like they're part of a special occasion. Overall, Musso and Frank Grill is a must-visit for anyone wanting to savor a piece of Hollywood history, but a dress code would elevate the dining experience even further. And of course, the food and service is chef’s kiss excellent. And they go the distance for birthdays. Pretty sweet!

I absolutely loved my omakase experience here! It was just enough food so I didn’t leave overly stuffed, and all of the courses were exceptional! They apparently just introduced this omakese menu for the summmer, so everything was bright, fresh, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. There were a couple of surprises that I wasn’t expecting, like the chawanmushj with Gorgonzola cheese which which I never would think would work, but it did! The staff was super knowledgeable and attentive throughout the dinner. Overall a great experience, and my friend from out of town that joined me felt the same.

I've been here several times now, and everything is always so delicious! It's fun to bring a group and sample everything. Hummus, babaganush, beets, carrots, cauliflower with labne, and couscous with vegetables are among my favorites. And also their fluffy pitas are incredible. (Just writing this review is making me hungry! ) The service is also great and the restaurant has a lovely vibe (including an outdoor space when the weather is nice). Can't wait to return!
