Since the 1960`s, the Triantafillopoulos family, at its restaurants in Athena, Greece and Jacksonville, Florida have worked with top quality materials showing respect for the food itself and the customer.

As of December 2017, their son Yiorgos and his wife Marilena would like to welcome you to a brand new restaurant in the heart of the city, The Athenian Owl.

Reflecting the heritage and the authenticity of Yia-Yia`s (our mother and originator of the first two restaurants) recipes, we add to her wonderful food our passion of representing Greek healthy cuisine at its best.

My friends and I went to celebrate two birthdays. It was a wonderful time. They gave us a booth as requested. Our sweet waitress Georgia let us talk and talk to our heart’s content.

About the restaurant

Rue Saint-Marc is a modern French Bistro serving French inspired cuisine in the San Marco neighborhood. We have an extensive cocktail program and a unique wine and craft beer list. The ambiance is stylish while still being quite comfortable. Seating includes tufted leather booths, handmade wooden tables, a beautiful bar-height communal table, and an outdoor patio. An open kitchen allows guests to view the chefs in action.

13 Gypsies is a cozy, intimate Spanish tapas restaurant. You can also find the influence of other cuisines throughout the menu. Primarily utilizing Spanish techniques to prepare both creative and classic renditions of Spanish dishes, Chef Howard and Chef Kevan operate a true craft kitchen. The two of them prepare and cook most everything from scratch including breads, cured meats, cheeses, sausages, spice blends, pickled vegetables, and desserts. This practice of making nearly everything in house promotes waste-free cooking and higher quality food. Our wines are mainly from Spain, and our beer is Florida local. We are located in a two-story Spanish-style building built in 1923 by Henrietta Dozier, Jacksonville's only female architect in the early part of the 20th century. You will find eclectic, maximalist religious iconography adorning the walls and original floor tile. We have few tables, so reservations are highly recommended. Last seating is an hour and a half before closing time.

Exceptional food, service and experience. Celebrated my husband’s successful cancer treatment with our first restaurant meal in 4 months and 13 Gypsies didn’t disappoint. Top 3 restaurant in Jax, hands down.

Our first time here didn’t disappoint. Kalie was a great server who made perfect suggestions for raw bar (selected house oysters), salads ( berry& goat cheese; Cesar ) and entrees. Salmon was Cooke perfectly and the snapper special was great. And before we left David the manager came by to thank us for being there. Truly a great find via Open Table.
