Owner Brian Piccini is proud of his award-winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant’s American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting. Deuxave’s (pronounced doo-ave) name plays homage to its location at the corners of Commonwealth Ave and Massachusetts Ave.

We love Deuxave! It is, without question and any real rival, our favorite great restaurant in the Boston area. The food is exemplary -- delicately complex, beautiful to behold, perfectly prepared. The service is perfection -- warm, vivacious, and friendly without intruding. Whenever we are contemplating an evening out, Deuxave is the first place we consider. The dining room is lovely and possessed of a wonderful energy. And the outside seating has the capacity to create a completely memorable occasion -- settling over a beautiful repast with the dome of sky settling into twilight. Darren and Jose are memorably great servers.....and to the entire team, from the paired Ryans across the length of the restaurant, we send a salute of gratitude.

The seasonal tasting was an incredible experience!! The wine pairings were exceptional, and the staff was wonderful. Honestly, it was a great value given the quality of the food. We will be back soon!

We had a lovely first visit to Deuxave. The food (duck and halibut) was rich and imaginative and the staff was welcoming and engaging. My wife stumbled a bit getting seated (no one's fault) and the manager came over but before and after our meal to make sure she was OK and to chat. We live in the neighborhood, and it's terrific to have such a refined spot near by. Somewhat of a hidden gem. We look forward to being back.

We had the tasting menu. Bread outstanding. Crab/avocado/mango terrific. Duck confit excellent. Eggplant very good. NY strip steak was 2 small pieces of gristle. I couldn’t cut through the sinew in 2 places and sent it back, which I have never done in the past 30 years. They replaced with another piece of shoe leather served with a dollop of standard barbecue sauce. Chocolate with cinnamon ice cream outstanding. Service very good, ambience outside was wonderful. If not for the atrocious steak it would have been an amazing meal.

The food at Deuxave is very good. We had the halibut and arctic char - both were well prepared. The wine list is endless - and mostly expensive. Service was good but there were significant gaps in time (they had the wine bottle off table and didn’t come by to fill it until our glasses had been empty a while. Taking our order was also a leisurely process - but dinner shouldn’t be a rush, and it wasn’t). The sherbets and coffee were a good dessert. We’ve been before and we’d likely go again -

The food, the ambience as well as the staff were all amazing! Truly enjoyed our dinner and very conveniently located for the Berkeley Performance Center. Thank you for the lovely experience!

Deuxave has been a favorite special occasion restaurant for years. We love the big smiling welcome as if they’re excited to see us. Can’t say enough about the creatively genius kitchen, scrumptious mocktail, and Paul, a friendly, social, and knowledgeable garçon, who was with us for the evening. Hand-made butter on their signature homemade brioche bread could be a meal. That, along with roasted baby beet salad with so many complementary flavors was enough for the entire meal flavor and fullness-wise. We dove in to the salty, lemony flavor explosion in the mustard greens paired with the silky butter melting into the bread. Followed by the char, with barley, spinach and artichoke purée, and fava beans ….. too good to name. Too full for dessert!!
