Service was slow. Not as expected. Would consider other places and will not be returning to this establishment.
Outstanding food for very special occasions. A cognitive positive food experience with very positive memories.
I was really disappointed by Deuxave. I went for my graduation with my family. The atmosphere was lovely and the service started out great. However, I have celiac disease, which I noted on OpenTable when I made the reservation, and it wasn't handled very well. I had looked at the menu online before coming and had picked out a dish that I thought would work well for me. Unfortunately, it was taken off the menu when we arrived. When the waitress came over to ask if we had any questions about the menu, I told her I have celiac and asked if there were any dishes that would work. She pointed out the scallop dish, which was served with tortellini, and said the chef could pair it with different vegetables to make it gluten free. She also offered me another option. I love scallops so I chose that dish, and after I ordered the waitress came back and asked me to pick a couple vegetables from the menu that I would like with my dish, so I chose asparagus and parsnip puree. When the entrees came, my dish consisted of three scallops (which were well cooked and seasoned) over a pile of boiled, unseasoned parsnips, boiled peas, and asparagus. There was no sauce on it and was extremely underwhelming, especially for the $35 price tag. I was really annoyed that the chef would offer to make me something off menu and then put absolutely no effort into it. I didn't want to say anything during the meal because I didn't want to ruin my celebration, but it really put a damper on a special dinner for me. I would not return.
Mother's Day / Graduation dinner with family.
I had heard great things about this restaurant and the hype is mostly justified.
Took my wife for Sunday afternoon lunch on mother’s day, and we both had excellent meals!
Always a great experience.
We were celebrating our youngest son's graduation from Berklee and Mother's Day. Our food and service were outstanding! Great ambience as well. A lovely restaurant; we'd go again, definitely!
Delicious. Greatly enjoyed our meal
The food and service was excellently
I love Deuxave, and it's my go to for special occasions and great meals. I am gluten free and they do a great job accommodating me. I showed up on Saturday night to celebrate a 60th birthday of one of my friends. Of the three of us, all were gluten free, and two were dairy free. After sitting there for 1/2 hour, while all the other tables around us were served their amuse bouche - none for us for some reason - we asked why they hadn't delivered gluten free rolls yet. We were told there was a little bit of dairy in them. I don't have dairy issues, so not sure why they didn't ask if I would like them. Ok - they take 15 - 17 minutes to bake. An hour later, and our appetizers on the table, no rolls. People stop by to tell us that they take a while, but still.....we had been seated for an hour already. At the end of the meal, the waitress came over to one of my friends with the dessert menu. Asked her about a special dessert they could make for her, and then started to walk away. We stopped her to say, "would you like to know whether anyone else at the table would like dessert?"
Deuxave is wonderful - the food is excellent, and typically the service is top notch. Not last weekend. I might understand if we were seated in the height of the dinner hour, but we sat down to dinner at 5:45 when the restaurant was really empty....so not sure what happened.
From start to finish our meal was wonderful - as always!
A wonderful experience. Great food, wonderful service, superb experience.
The French onion soup was too sweet. The lobster gnocchi was also too sweet, and gnocchi was overcooked. Not genuine French cuisine as you can see from the items I mentioned. Overpriced, poor quality cooking.
Food is awesome！！And service is good！ And dinning environment is quiet and cozy！
We celebrated a 40th birthday here and treated our friends to a fab night out. Food and service excellent. Thank y’all for a great night!!!
Absolutely wonderful food, service and decor. Highly recommend
Attentive service, great high-quality food. Accomodated my dietary restrictions beautifully.
Deuxave for us is and always has been perfection in great dining. We thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic and creative cuisine that makes us go WOW on each bite of every dish. Our entrees had nicely chosen and creative accompaniments with the fish and meat, all flavors went perfectly with one another like a great symphony performance. Nothing was wild for the sake of being new or for being trendy. The chef is truly a master chef. Service is friendly, helpful, and informed about both food and wine, but just enough without being overbearing. Someone always magically appears exactly when you want something. I would venture to say no high-end dining establishment in Boston really tops Deuxave for fabulous cooking and sophisticated yet understated interior design. Prices are high but in line, if not a bit less, than some of their high-end competitors in town. Very highly recommended.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We always go there when visiting Boston - always! The service is very good, the room is attractive and the food is very special. The menu is always interesting, varied, fresh and DELICIOUS! Do not miss the chicken! Hard to believe I am saying this about chicken but I am. No matter how they prepare it - and it changes - do not miss it! We have never been disappointed. There was one odd thing during this visit - there were 2 things we wanted to order but they had run out. We have never experienced that before.
I’m very disappointed. Our seats are corner side, in there, all people are asian. It’s almost racism problem. I’m so upset.
This lovely restaurant does it all perfectly. Delicious food, very attentive service in a beautifully decorated dining establishment.
One of the best meals that I’ve had!
We got the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Both my wife and I were very happy with the quality of the food and how well the pairings worked. Even though it was 5 courses, being fine French dining portions it ended up being just perfect amount of food.
I always love this restaurant!! We eat out a lot--at many good restaurants. However, Deuxave goes beyond 'good' --every course is outstanding and delicious. Service is professional and fun. Bartender too!
First time visit after trying other Boston restaurants and will definitely will be going back.
The menu has something for everybody and will not disappoint no matter what you order.
Beautiful and elegant dining at its best! From the service to the food, everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend trying if you haven’t yet!
Celebrating my birthday, and had a lovely experience. Staff were extremely helpful when I needed to leave early and packed our bottle to go with grace and subtlety. The dinner itself was cooked to perfection. If anything, the flavors were a bit too much for my dull student’s palate.
Awesome food and even better service. Perfect for a special occasion.
One of the finest French restaurants in New England. Optimal price / value ratio.
Loved it. Service great and food
The duck breast was sooooo good! We had exceptional service.
Went there for my 27th birthday and the food was amazing! Everything from their drinks to food, high quality. Will definitely be back! A bit pricey, but worth it! Thank you for making my birthday so much more special!
The food and wine were 100% on point. Beautifully plated beet salad, one of the best duck entrees ever, delicious cheeses and desserts. The wait staff were attentive, personable, and advised us well on food and drinks.
Amazing high-quality food. The restaurant accommodated my gluten allergy beautifully. The pastry chef created a delicious dessert for me. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and overall impeccable.
The food at Deuxave was solidly tasty but not terribly original. In general, this was a good place for a fancy meal, but there are other restaurants in the Boston area with more inspired cuisine and better value. The service, however, was great -- everyone we interacted with was very friendly and charming.
we enjoyed our dinner ;food was great but their dinner rolls were lame in comparison; they had homemade butter but bread rolls were bland and dry and underwhelming for an otherwise fabulous meal; , should be more inspired to have french crusty bread that one expects
Our neighborhood go-to for a special celebration--a cut above the rest. Always an interesting menu and superb flavor combinations. The guava ice cream and imaginative creme brulee dessert was particularly fabulous.
My friend and I were celebrating my birthday and it was such a memorable experience. The food was excellent and our drinks were lovely. The service was fantastic. Our servers were kind, funny, and attentive. The birthday surprise at the end was a perfect way to cap off the evening. It was such a wonderful and memorable evening and I am so happy I had my birthday dinner there!
I found that our visit to Deuxave to be excellent. The service was great the food was exceptional and the ambience was perfect. We enjoyed our cheese selections and the wine.
It’s a must!!!
