Great menu and the food is absolutely fantastic! Service is very good. I loved it
Were Michelin to visit Boston, Deuxave would certainly make the cut. A balanced, summer-themed tasting menu, inspired by blueberries, and anchored by house-butchered Niman Ranch beef, offered a tour of the Chef Coombs culinary skills. At a bargain $99/pp for the five course meal, Deuxave is a must-have addition to any Foodie’s list dining in Boston.
The food was delicious, especially the duck, and it was nicely presented.
We went to Deuxave for our 30th anniversary; they were lovely, offered us complimentary champagne, and were attentive without being over-present. The food was wonderful, our server's suggestions were spot on (her 2 suggestions were by far the best things we ate), and it was a lovely, romantic evening. The table are not too close together which is great. Overall, a wonderful experience.
We enjoyed an amazing birthday celebration dinner mid week. The setting/atmosphere is lovely, restaurant layout very pleasant, the staff each and every one could not have been nicer, more professional, or accommodating and the food was beautifully presented, creative and delicious. No negatives. I would not hesitate to return and will be certain to recommend.
made the reservation but for friend from New York who treated me and a person from work. the new yorker was wild about the fois gras and the food and it was his second time. I am a frequent flyer down the street and usually do the patio where our dog is treated like a famiilar king and given his own water. tonight we had a waitress whom i have never met but she was absolutely wonderful, attentive, warm, knowledgeable about the nuances of the menu, and we only wish we got her name. we eat out a lot and this is without doubt the best and consistently so,
Nice, comfortable lounge area and bar; bartender very attentive; host/hostess very engaging and welcoming.
Food was very good - appetizers, entrees, coffee - all well received by our party of 4.
Restaurant ambiance is well appointed - tables at a comfortable distance;
Restaurant service was just okay - waited a long while for our drinks - Server had apologized.
Water glasses filled regularly, Server checked in - but didn't feel attentive enough for the quality and price point of the restaurant. That said - it was a Monday evening so not very busy and in August - so perhaps a lower staff/customer ratio than usually have.
We will return - and regularly.
Emily is wonderful! Great experience!
As far as we are concerned, Deuxave IS the BEST restaurant in Boston.
Deux Ave is a gem - interesting menu, outstanding service, fun ambiance, and food which delivered on the menu’s promise.
We had a pasta bolognese and lamb. Both were excellent. Service was very pleasant and charming atmosphere. Cozy bar and high tops for more relaxed dining . They also have outside seating
We have already booked another reservation !!
While the ambiance and service was excellent, several of us were extremely disappointed in the food. I had the Colorado lamb loin. It tasted like a smokey barbecued frankfort- served in very thin slices and various shapes, looking to be the left over of something else. Other disappointing dishes mentioned were the salmon "much overcooked, dry and chewy" from a lady who never complains about anything, and the bass was totally uneventful. The more positive comments heard from our table were the duck, the tagliatelle, and the lobster and gnocchi appetiser. This was our second trip to Deuxave, the first being about a year ago. We waited until the menu changed as the prior menu was not really to our liking, but the ambience and service was and still is wonderful. I just wish the food had been more palatable.
We'd been there a few years back. We've done both their sister Boston Chops rest. I started with the Foie Gras, which was outstanding. Richard did the Duck Confit, which was crisp & just about perfect. We both decided to do the Chicken. While this was excellent, we've been searching for a replacement to Gordon Hammersly's Chicken. The chicken while still very good, was no match for Hammersly's Bistro. We still have to keep the search going. The dessert a decadent chocolate tarte was rich creamy & delicious. My partner Richard who is a pastry chef by trade enjoyed it very much. Overall a great meal, we feel considerably better than Le Espalier, which we did last year for our anniversary.
Great food, exceptional list of wines, attentive service and ambience!
Artistic presentation with fantastic flavor to match. Well trained and pleasant staff.
From the moment we walked in we New it was going to be a nice experience. We were greeted as soon as we came in and showed to a table.
The waiter came right over to check to see if we had any questions very friendly and helpful.
The menu was extensive and interesting, when the food came it was perfect .He also helped us pic out a nice wine and the dessert
Absolutely wonderful!! It exceeded our expectations. We will visit again on our next visit to Boston.
Wonderful menu, nicely upscale interior and exterior, flawless, tasteful, and artistic dishes/courses. Staff was not sufficiently attentive after first 5 minutes of interactions. Otherwise delightful.
We went to Deuxave for my wife’s birthday. The location is excellent. The waiter led us to a window side table with the view of Prudential Tower in the sky! With the evening got darker, the view got better.
The food is very good. We enjoyed every dish we ordered. The main courses are delicious, looks good and tastes good. But duck liver and the French fries are our favorites :) then of course the creme brûlée- heaven!
The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Never pushing and always considerate. Provide good suggestions. After he knew this was for birthday, we started to get free finger foods and desert now and then, with a small sheet of chocolate with writing of “happy birthday “ all over it. And the creme brûlée came with a candle!!
It was just perfect! 5 stars!
Probably one of the best meals I've had in Boston. Each dish was delicious. Service was great, not stuffy. My cocktail was exceptional. I would certainly recommend.
We haven't been for about a year, but it was just as enjoyable as we remembered it. Our waitress was great and had a lot of good responses and made it that much more special.
Enjoyable food. Large portions of very comfortable food. Excellent service in a very comfortable setting
This is one of our all-time favorite restaurants and we go each and every time we are in Boston. The room is attractive, the staff is attentive and the food is always delicious. They create a terrific environment where you feel very well taken care of and very well fed. It is upscale enough that you feel you have been out for a very nice evening but not so fancy that it feels fussy and overdone. We are biased - we love this place! The cocktails are always unique and delicious. Do not miss the chicken dish - which changes with the season. Imagine getting excited by chicken but this place does that! We have been here many times over the years and always look forward to returning.
This place was AMAZING! From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like royalty. Appetizer was top-notch. Entrée was great....Baked Alaska for dinner - FANTASTIC! Wife had the Lamb and I have to homemade pasta. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great night out. Great portions for the price.
Dining experience there was VERY disappointing... Service was fairly good but the food served was substantially below expectation and its price level. Not tasty at all and way below standards that should have been met at this level.
Fantastic experience, real good cooking, some classics with original twists. Service was perfect, our hostess really cared about us, and brought nice suggestions. Great wine list and brandy list on top of this.
My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was great. Our server acknowledged our anniversary at the beginning of our meal and brought us complimentary champagne so we could toast to our anniversary at the end of the meal. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and I would definitely go again. Be prepared to spend $30-50 per entree and a minimum of $50 for a bottle of wine, with most bottles costing more. They do not skimp on the food, though. It’s played beautifully and there is plenty of food. I ordered the filet and it was a hefty 8 Oz filet that I couldn’t finish. We felt the food was worth the money.
Perfect for snobs in all of us. Meals for show competition lacking balance. Smallest side dishes and small glasses of wine, very average according to Vivino ratings. Veggies misrepresented or discriminated against. As first guest that night, we were served from half empty bottle. How Long Does an Open Bottle of Wine Last? It was not memorable experience...
This is a very nice place - food is delicious and the service was excellent. I had the lobster gnocci special app and the sea scallops for dinner. My husband had the beet salad for the app and lamb for dinner. We were too full to eat dessert but all our food was tasty, fresh and well prepared. It was a special birthday and they very nicely gave us a little dessert plate with a candle to celebrate. Very appreciated.
It's a great place - just a bit pricey for regular dining.
The evening was delightful. Attentive staff, excellent food. Highly recommend this gem!
Excellent food ! Relatively quiet ! Great cocktails and dessert !
Mark and the team were so helpful in creating a very special evening for the three of us.
Deuxave is one of the better restaurants for service in Boston- the food is top notch as well. Will be back many times!
This was our first time at Deuxave but hopefully not our last! The tasting menu was fantastic from start to finish. In hindsight, we shouldn't have opted for the foie gras supplement, as the tasting menu itself was plenty of food. The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was upscale without being stuffy. The only downside is the construction that's going on outside the restaurant.
Outstanding from start to finish. Food and service were both terrific.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Will be back again.
Perfect occasion: excellent cuisine and ambiance, service attentive but not intrusive, vegan meal prepared based on waiter's thoughtful questions and "was the best" she had ever been served.
Our waitress Sam acknowledged our anniversary with two glasses of champagne and knew that we had been to Deuxave before. Service was outstanding food was really special from the soft shell crab appetizer to the crispy duck breast entree. We loved a Gigondas Rhône wine served by the sommelier and the wait staff never missed refilling our glasses throughout the meal. We picked a delicious chocolate dessert and they added a piece of chocolate that said happy anniversary!! The room is beautiful and you have a view of the back bay out the windows. Everybody made us feel really special and we recommend Deuxave for that special occasion.
