Dempsey's Steakhouse at Saddlebrook Resort
Special occasion for my wife’s birthday.
salad bar was poorly maintained and not very visibly appealing. changed more than a few times who was serving our table (not a big deal) but never really felt like anybody cared about how we were doing. Steak ordered was not what I got. they tried to correct it and brought out a filet that was more medium well than medium rare. $4.00 for a small glass of milk and a meal priced out at $140 for 2 without drinks. overpriced and food wasn't good
Thank you for a great anniversary dinner experience!
We have been there several times before and never had any issues. We were celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday Saturday and the service was awful. It took our main course over an hour to get to us after appetizers. Very disappointing.
We loved the whole experience. It was my birthday. We went with two other couples and were seated at a lovely circular table with a view of the park. The steaks were outstanding; the service was friendly and prompt. Valet parking was very efficient. Just one caveat: unless your sense of direction is much superior to mine, you'll likely need a GPS to find your way out of the park in the dark.
Always a great meal
Date with my Lovely Wife
The service was slow. Sometimes had to ask twice for drinks. We were in a room with a large party of men and they were very loud sometimes making it difficult to hear across our own table.
A steak house should be able to prepare tender meat cooked to the requested temperature. Very disappointing.
Emily was an excellent waitress. She really took care of us
The service was absolutely exceptional. The quality of the food was excellent and the location really nice. We will definitely be repeat customers.
First time dining at Dempsey's and it exceeded our expectations!
Food was delicious but the glassware smelled like pond water or fish. When you’re ordering a bottle of wine that is on the higher price this should never happen.
The restaurant was fairly busy because the sports bar seemed busy. Staff seemed stressed and Host was very rude upon my arrival. I understand when people are busy (which is a good thing) but attitude is never appropriate when I spend $88 on a meal for one.
Best sea bass I’ve ever had! Baked potato is enormous and salted on the outside.
Our server Amanda was rude until it came time to give us our check. Then she was semi-friendly. The food is unnecessarily expensive.
Ate here last night for the first time. We live in Wesley Chapel, the land of chain restaurants,so we were excited to try some fine dining without having to drive to Tampa. The food was good, but the kitchen very slow, three hours from the time we sat down till we were finally finished, for 3 people. The waitress was attentive, the wine list was good and expansive. The restaurant was packed for a Tuesday evening and very noisy. I don't know if I could recommend it for a quiet, romantic dinner. All in all, I think I would give it another chance
Dinner began strong. Excellent service, superb tableside Caesar salad preparation. Steaks prepared to the rare temperature of whichever requested. Then service crashed with dessert and coffee. Coffee tepid, repeatedly. Service staff suddenly sparse. The poor conclusion of the meal ruined the experience. Will not travel over an hour to dine here again.
We make an annual trip on Christmas Eve to Dempsey's. Good food and great service.
Quite the trek from parking to the restaurant...but the resort provided a golf cart ride. A nice surprise. We were seated in the perfect spot and had a very pleasant and attentive server..even though he was working on Christmas Eve. I ordered the lamb chops and my husband order steak medallions of some sort. We very much enjoyed it. It was a bit pricey...but with fine dining it was anticipated. The couple next to us...kinda close...was extremely annoying. He stayed on the phone the entire evening...searching and planning their next meal. She apparently didn’t care for their wine selection since she told the server “get this out of my sight “! Not the fault of the restaurant obviously. I recommend this restaurant and would return for a special occasion dinner.
Christmas Eve dinner with family!
There was one other couple seated in the restaurant and we were seated directly next to them. We asked if we could at least scoot over one table and were told ALL the empty tables were reserved.
When asked if this was a special occasion I mentioned and made it very clear on more than one instance that it was my s/o birthday. They even repeated it. NOTHING was done for him. Not a happy Birthday at the end, a song a dessert...nothing.
And it was extremely cold in there. I never could take my jacket off.
2nd time there and NOT nearly as impressed as the first time around.
The Caesar salad was delicious!!! My husband and I had the shrimp and they were colossal...great!
Disappointing. Overpriced for the quality of food and level of service.
The waiter tried to uosell us on everything.
Always great service, great food
The food was excellent to go along with the service
Food and service were excellent. A little pricy. Nice place to meet friends.
The food was delicious! Staff was very friendly and gave great suggestions. The oysters were huge and yummy. We will definitely be back.
We absolutely love Dempsey’s! Our waiter, Jesse, was pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. We never feel rushed. The food is impeccable and the service is top notch. Dempsey’s is always a special night out.
Food was very good. We had a variety of appetizers which were all very fresh and delicious. The steaks and fish dinner entrees were also very good. Our servers we very polite and good, my only complaint is it took quite some time to receive the main dish. I would prefer a little faster service.
Overall the actual food is very good.
Tableside ceaser salad was fantastic and the filet with Bernadine sauce was the best I have had. It’s pricey, but you get what you pay for!
Jesse and Avery were fantastic! Jesse was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, as we had a hard time choosing. We went for our anniversary and appreciated all the congratulations we received. Food was great we we're a little disappointed with the chocolate cake, bit Jesse fixed it worth a brulee. First time for dinner, we will be back!
Really enjoyed this restaurant! It was great for a romantic meal and even though there were two groups there at the same time, it was not loud. The food was spectacular and the wine list was extensive. The desserts were delicious and the after dinner coffee to top it all off was perfect. And be sure to have some of their signature dinner rolls with locally made honey. So good!
Fantastic food and wonderful service with Jessie, Evan, Chef Mike, and Manager David. Chilean Sea Bass is to die for. I go every year on my birthday and will be back again and again. Highly recommend!
Steaks were over cooked, did not send back due to being a business meal, for this price point it was absolutely unacceptable.
Celebrating with friends. It is good to return to a place that keeps their reputation for excellent service and food quality.
Went on a Friday night, nice quiet atmosphere. Older seating area smells a bit musty, but food did not disappoint one bit. Had the NY Strip, cooked to perfection. Sides we shared were the garlic mashed potatoes-best I’ve ever eaten and the creamed spinach. Wife ordered a filet mignon “medium and butterflied” it came out medium but not butterflied. We informed the waitress that it wasn’t a big deal just wanted to let her know, she said that she would let her manager know. Manager never came over to apologize or anything, but we hold nothing against the waitress she was friendly and did a great job. Would go back.
Food was wonderful, service was wonderful - overall and excellent experience.
We were staying at Saddlebrook Resort for my birthday weekend and of course, had to eat at Dempsey’s. Their steaks are wonderful, cooked to perfection and delicious. We opted for the salad bar, which is more limited in selections than years past, but still a good value at $10 additional per person (with an entree). It had a nice selection of antipasto types of items (meat, cheeses, olives, bruschetta, marinated artichoke hearts and mushrooms, etc.). But it’s the service that was impeccable. Cassi was friendly and attentive, and the manager, David, helped with the wine selection and made the birthday celebration extra special. I highly recommend Dempsey’s, whether or not you are staying at the resort.
The food and the service was first rate. Very friendly wait staff. Enjoyed the relatively quiet ambience and the creative choices on the menu.
