Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood
Dining before theater
Wonderful to catch dinner at Delphine’s before the Pantages CATS! They offered a delicious special 3 course prix fixed CATS menu with salad, fish and dessert for $50. Interesting side note, they added 17% gratuity to the check...odd for 2 people dining. Service was great and plenty of time before going to see “MEMORABLE EVENING PERFORMANCE OF CATS. We also validated and valet parked at W so easy to retrieve car afterwards.
The service was excellent, and the food was fine. The only shortcoming was that the menu was somewhat limited, and there was no draft beer.
The menu has been the same for a couple of years. If you only go to the Pantages once in a while, no problem. We have season tickets and really enjoy going to Delphines before the show, but some seasonal additions to the appetizers would be great. Very nice restaurant, staff and they make sure you get to the show on time.
The idiom, “you can’t go home again” seemingly applies to a return visit to Delphines. The first time we went the food was incredible and the ambiance was quiet and relaxing, promoting engaging conversation. Unfortunately, this time was a complete disappointment. Although my wife’s order of scallops was amazing, my experience with a Caesar salad equaled something I got pre-packaged at the grocery store, dry pre-cooked chicken cubes and nearly non-existent dressing. We ordered a side of Brussels sprouts, which had a unique flavor from the addition of grapes, but were soggy and had a glob of cheese in the bottom which lended nothing to the dish. We ordered the chef’s special desserts which were anything but special. It makes me truly sad, but I’m afraid we will not be returning. The restaurant was noisy and the service was rushed and understaffed. The most ridiculous part of the experience was there is now a mandatory 17% gratuity. Really? I generally tip 25-30% but when a mandatory gratuity is included that’s the most i’m going to give. Sad day, Delphines. I really miss the old days!
Went to the Pantages to see Cats. Wish that they would change the menu
What a PERFECT place for anyone attending a Pantages performance!!! Delphine's FRONT DOOR is directly across the street from the theater front lobby & Will Call window. This venue was literally a SANCTUARY after coming out of traffic from the OC to downtown LA. Shoutout of GRATITUDE to hostess, Nicole for holding our table when we hit the worst of our traffic & Colleen for her OUTSTANDING customer service. Her food suggestions were spot on & Chef did not disappoint. The table ordered the Lobster/Brie Croissant sandwich & Pre-Fix Cats Theater Menu (Arugula Salad, Roasted Halibut & Tres Leches Cake) YUM!!! YUM!!! & more YUM!!! Remember to validate your parking ticket to get $5 off the $25 parking fee... AWESOME!!! Delphine's is my NEW GO-TO :) We will most DEFINITELY be BACK!!!!
Great. Best food in the area of the Pantages. Would like to have salmon as an addition choice for salads on the menu as chicken and shrimp are.
Delphine is always a wonderful experience. The food and the service are great!!
Very pleasant. Waiter was especially nice to my granddaughter.
Loved it so much, made another reservation for 3 weeks. The perfect place to eat then relax in the lobby of the W with a drink before the play at the Pantages.
Great restaurant. We enjoyed the scallops which were super yummy. The ambience was wonderful. We Ubered over but found the Metro so convienan we took the train back to our hotel. Excellent staff. If you are in the area would definitely recommend a stop for dinner.
I have been here a few times and love it, however this time 4/6 of my party ordered the halibut & it was the first time I have to give a bad review. I make my own fish & am a seafood conissour so I was looking forward to this dish. Placing a fish like that on a bed of slaw style salad was not only cheap but flavorless. Maybe a rissoto and/or side of spinich would work better. All of my party did not enjoy this at all and it was there first time at Delphine. I was bummed because I told them how amazing some of the food is.
Also the crab lettuce wraps were way over salted!! (The crab and the sauce).- Just wanted to give some constructive critisism since I love this place.
Lovely atmosphere, our server was wonderful and the food was delicious. I took one star off for the long wait between our apps and dinner, but it was otherwise a nice evening.
For the price, we were not impressed with the food quality. The service was okay and it was nice to be close to the Pantages as we were seeing a show there, but wouldn’t go again.
Much ado about nothing and DEFINITELY OVERPRICED. We hadn’t been here for a couple of years because of the same thing, but we thought we would try it again. Truly not worth it. It’s got nothing going for it except location, across the street from the Pantages. Had the Cesar salad, didn’t want the bacon and asked it I could have anchovy’s instead. Couldn’t believe that without even mentioning it, they charged $5 on what was already am over priced and truly mediocre Cesar with very, very little flavor. The “crouton” was one 2 1/2 inch paper thin and Lacey with lots of holes cracker type thing. I ordered the seafood stew and the broth was like water and for $45 they could have used more than a total of about 3 ounces and that INCLUDED the 2 mussel shells and one shrimp. Martinis were average size. Nothing at all special or memorable except maybe i will remember never to go back.
Delphine's has become our pre-theater place to dine. Food and service - SUPURB. Just one suggestion.
Increase the number of non-breakfast choices. Remember, your business increases prior to the theater
events at the Pantages acoss the street. You will control the theater district of Hollywood and Vine.
Great place for dinner before going to the theater.
Wish they were open for after theatre dessert.
This was a perfect place to meet for dinner prior to a show at the Pantages. The star of the dinner was our waitress, Tara. What a pro! She timed everything perfectly and let us know about all the best the restaurant has. The scallops and brussel sprouts side dish were absolutely delicious. It was a terrific evening!
Tara our server was exceptional
Always making sure everything is fine
Comfortable environment, attentive service, excellent food and beverage
I'm not sure who spotted us as regulars, but this visit was an eye-opener. We walked in, requested our usual bar seats, and it began. The bartender showed up with waters and my Iced Tea, and one of the hosts switched the TV to the Jeopardy channel, although it wasn't on yet. Barb got her requested glass of Merlot, and we ordered our brisket burger. It came pre-cut (they knew we were going to share) and was very tasty. All in all, very flattering, and we're grateful. The topper was a "locals" discount on the bill. Although Delphine automatically adds a 17% tip, we left some of the discount amount as an additional tip - the service was truly exceptional.
Delphine is very convenient to the Pantages. Parking is $20 with validation from the restaurant. Expensive - but so easy. I've been there each of the many times I've attended a play at the Pantages.
After theatre, the noise level is much too high for me.
An alpha dog friend of mine and myself ate here last night (February 26, 2019). I read reviews prior to coming. A waitress named Tara received three 5-star ratings from three alleged customers. Since I am always skeptical, I assumed they were provided by her mother, father and Uncle Louie. I was prepared to be Tararibly (get it?) disappointed. I wasn’t! Btw Tara, name it either Angelyn or Samuel. Hopefully you know which goes with which.
Having read reviews about this place, I inquired about Paris, the alleged hostess with the mostest. Supposedly Paris is synonymous with Eiffel and bright (get it Eifel Tower; city of lights?) Nicole was there instead. She was equally as impressive so let’s refer to her as Chicago; home of Sears Tower from now on. Hold it. Scratch that. Sears is in bankruptcy. Let’s rename her Roma so we can say arrivederci when leaving (get it arrivederci Roma?)
The waiter and host were exceptional. The waiter gave quality suggestions on dinner specials and allowed us to add protein to our entry’s. I had my fraternity brother visiting and the upscale, quiet environment allowed us to enjoy dinner and catch up on old times. Top notch!!!
Delphine is a terrific venue when going to the theatre at the Pantages, across the street. Food is good, broad choices and our server was friendly and attentive. I've been to Delphine many times and it is among my favorite places in Hollywood.
We love eating at Delphines! Great atmosphere! Great service! Great prices! Wonderful food! Yummy cocktails! We always look forward to dining there before our Pantages theater shows! Looking forward to next time!
I had dinner before the theatre. I ordered the fish of the day which was a sea bass with Israeli Couscous. The entire dish had absolutely no flavor! Band, unsalted and no spice or herbs. I have never had anything this plain and flavorless in a restaurant. Even the sauce at the bottom of the dish was flavorless. Totally gross, waste of money.
We waited almost 1 1/2 hrs for our food.
Food not good, don't bother. And expensive, the tuna was like a piece of rubber, the rest looked terrible and tasted less than mediocre.
The food was okay. We were going to the Pantages to see a play, Delphine was across the street and had valet parking and we were on a time restraint which made it perfect!
We eat at Delphine’s just about every time we see a show at the Pantages (which is actually quite often). It’s so convenient! It’s right across the street and it’s attached to the W Hotel so we always valet park. The waiters and waitresses are always super sweet and enthusiastic plus, the food is amazing! We’ve been too scared to try something new because Delphine’s is just too good. If you ever go, order the cauliflower! Trust me!!
Perfect place to go for a great meal before the theater. Our server was exceptional!
Fantastic food and incredibly close to the Pantages and The Fonda Theater. Our server was friendly and attentive and made us feel like we were the most important diners in the room.
It’s our favorite place to dine before heading to the Pantages theatre. The service is quick, the staff are friendly and helpful...
We came to Delphine to eat before the Pantages show and found the service and food to be stellar. Our main courses came within minutes, the flavor was incredible and the servers suggestions were dead on. We had a great time.
Great service from our waiter who was friendly and efficient. Front of house staff was less attentive.
Unfortunately the service was really sub-par. It was inattentive, slow, they served a latte cold and it took nearly the end of the meal to get a new one. The manager kindly comped it but I wouldn't recommend, the menu is quite pricey and it didn't seem to be worth it. It was very difficult to flag down the server for salt and pepper, beverages, and even a side of butter to be served with the baked goods. The restaurant is beautiful and the cocktail was delicious. There was a service charge included in the check for 17% which is probably why the service wasn't that great. The hostess was also clueless in showing our friend to our table and couldn't seem to find the reservation with the last name even though our party was already seated.
Went to see a play
Food prices have gone up and portions reduced
The waiter was just wonderful. He timed our food perfectly for the event we were attending. Great, great service.
