The restaurant is closed and the windows are papered. We were majorly disappointed that OT took the reservation and gave us no notification. The reservation was even confirmed.
The restaurant was closed and you guys allowed me to book! Not professional.
After trying for an hour to find a place to eat for Valentines, I am from out of state, I finally got a table here. Only to get there and the place is closed. Awful because now there was no place that wasn’t already over booked. Take closed restaurants off your site.
The restaurant was closed and you let us make a reservation, we drove all the way there, I am not impressed with your service at all. You should not allow us to make reservations on restaurants that are closed
The restaurant was closed and has been since November 2020! I showed up with my wife on Valentine’s Day to discover a boarded up restaurant. Ridiculous!
RESTAURANT IS CLOSED!! It took our reservation but it’s shut down due to COVID. Should update info!
DO NOT BOOK! Had a reservation on valentines day, and show up and the restaurant was closed. I even got a confirmation text. Completely ruined the day for us! OpenTable and de Medici needs to figure this out ASAP before ruining more peoples dates and nights.
If you’re not open don’t have reservations available on Open Table.
Restaurant was closed. Shouldn’t be letting reservations happen on open table.
they were closed. how are we able to make reservations here.
It was closed and says it’s opened on this app
We made Valentine’s Day reservations and drove all the way from LA just to find out they were closed.
I have now learned to call the restaurant to make a reservation. I had made a reservation through the open table app and when the day came for my boyfriend and I to have our Valentine’s Day dinner, we were surprised to roll up to this restaurant and see that it is entirely closed.
The place is closed. It was never updated on the website so we made reservations showed up and it was closed.
Restaurant was closed upon arrival.
It’s closed and it was my twin siblings birthday and we had no place to eat
CLOSED. Looks like it has been for months too. Tighten up opentable
It wasn’t OPENED!
It was closed
this place is horrible and ruined my whole day. they were closed when said open and literaly got all ready
Terrible, I placed a reservation and was confirmed via email the day before and a couple hours before until we got to the restaurant and it was closed.
Making the reservation was easy. The hostess was very welcoming. We had a service dog & were not questioned about it & was sat at a very nice table by the window. The porter was polite & personable as was our server. One of my guests ordered the lamb chop medium rare & it came out well done. The other guest ordered the lobster risotto & the lobster was way over cooked. My tortellini was delicious, even though I had it boxed to-go & ate it later. I didn’t want be rude to my guests who chose not to order a different entree or have their orders remade. The manager was genuinely apologetic & even brought a piece of tiramisu for us to share because she felt so badly about the poor food. It could have used more Kahlúa. We paid for & enjoyed our cocktails, wine, & bruschetta. Those ended up costing almost $200, for which I tipped our server $40 & assured him we understood he didn’t cook the food & it wasn’t his fault even though he apologized several times. Having been a captain in a fine dining Italian restaurant for several years & a business owner myself, I am accustomed to paying top dollar for quality food in a fine dining atmosphere. Had we enjoyed our food, I would say it was worth the cost. However, given the poor quality of the food, I don’t feel good about paying nearly $200 for drinks & appetizers & one pasta dish. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews as it being the best Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter. I want to believe this was an anomaly due to the current COVID-19 crisis & that they can hire a professional chef once businesses are allowed to return to normal operation. In the meantime, they may want to consider lowering their prices or limiting their menu options. Observation: No other tables complained about their food while we were there. Maybe it was a fluke or maybe our standards are different. This was our experience, nonetheless.
My wife and I have been here several time. Great food always very consistent. Fantastic and professional service. It was nice having dinner and a quiet restaurant. Again, terrific meal.
Authentic Italian restaurant .... good service ... good food
Our dinner at de'Medici completely met expectations. We chose to sit inside because it was so romantic and beautiful. The service was top notch all around and the food authentic and delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better evening! They made us feel safe, comfortable and welcomed. Great evening!
We enjoyed our dinner at DeMedici very much and they were adhearing to all
Covid regulations. They have a happy hour now and we also took advantage
of it. The food was very good and they also have outside dining now.
The food at de Medici was excellent. They had the best Tiramisu I have ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot.
great place great food
Service wasn’t great, but we like the food and location. We have come here several times over the last 10-15 years.
One our favorite SD restaurants. We host an annual event there and Sal always treats us as old friends.
We always enjoy dining at de Medici. It is one of our favorite Italian restaurants, with it's old-school vibe and great ambience.
Excellent food, ambiance, and service! I love this restaurant!
I had a really good experience overall! The service was great and the workers were all very kind and attentive. My only advice would be not to order pasta. I paid $26 for tortellini and the portion was extremely small. I would strongly recommend a pizza or another dish! Definitely check this place out if you’re in the gas lamp.
Returned for our wedding anniversary, ordered same meal as always: signature sole dish, crispy calamari, and lobster bisque - all very good. Missed the cloth tablecloths and elegant service of the past, but was still good.
The service was fairly good, the ambience very good, how ever the food was not that good. Overall I give the experience only One star. After all you go to a restruant for the food!
The food was absolutely fabulous and our waiter was outstanding. We definitely look forward to going back there in the future
Family get together food was excellent & we eat outside it was pleasant. Service was very good but took awhile to get main meal but once they came it was excellent!
Great food and great service. I have coming here for many years. Love the food and the people.
Awesome food so delicious! Our server was so nice And had great energy! Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!
The veal Parm was fantastic! Broiled Steak and lobster tail, perfectly cooked. Ou Martini's were spot on. The Veggies we had were also very good and seasoned individually ( spinach, carrots, mushrooms and asparagus ). Also had the Carpaccio...very nice. Had the Cannoli and berries with gelato for dessert. Delicious filling with a perfectly crisp shell. I don't think we had the best waiter, not super attentive, but some of the more seasoned staff jumped in when they saw we may be lacking. For two it was about $240.00 with 2 martini's each, but we had the most expensive items , appetizers, sides and desserts.
Will I go back ? Cant wait.....Oso Buco . And, if it matters, my name ends in a vowel. :)
