About
very good but quite noisy for an older couple who have trouble hearing!
We have been patrons for years and keep the tradition when my kids, now adults are back in town to visit. Great for a big group, everyone finds their favorite dish, good wine selection and great desserts.
It was totally awesome
The food was excellent. The wait staff was attentive and professional. The chicken marsala was delicious and the ravioli was superb.
We always enjoy our meals at D’Amicos. The variety is great and satisfying whether wanting something light or something filling.
Very good food and service. Meatballs and caesar salad were great. Good value wines.
Great service. Thanks!!
A quite nice little restaurant in Rice Village. We has the fried ravioli, dinner salad, margarita pizza, and a cannoli. The fried ravioli and cannoli were both excellent. My Caesar salad should have had a little more dressing as some of the bits lacked flavor. The Margarita pizza was a disappointment and would not recommend this to anyone. For what is an easy pizza, it just lack flavor overall. I don't think there was any seasoning added or in the sauce. We will be back, but probably not for pizza.
Great food, good service, special orders done right!
One of my fav places.
Love this place. Reasonably priced food that is always great. Reminds me of a little European restaurant
Delicious as usual with friendly, quick but not too quick service and a great atmosphere. There’s nothing not to like at this place, especially if Italian food’s your fave. :)
Food is always great service was a little slow on the patio. Waiter did not know what dressings they have and did not refill waters.
Had a great time. Homemade pasta was amazing!!
Never disappoints!
As I stated on my review on yelp and Google I found my first experience at this restaurant to be horrible. When I arrived I inform the hostess we are celebrating my mother‘s 86th birthday and she would let the waitress know. Also she saw my mother on a walker and went to have us follow through all the tables to the back of the restaurant to climb into a booth with an 86-year-old woman his walker would not even fit between the tables to get back that far. I don’t understand why hostesses don’t realize and look at the people that are seating before they start walking away. When she got to the table she wanted us to go to she turned around and I motioned her from the front door that we were not sitting in a booth and she came back and sat us at a table right near the door. The waitress was stressed from what she told us. Her brain was scrambled from what she told us and it went downhill from there. My wife asked for a sweet tea and she brought an iced tea and when my wife tasted it and said are you sure this is sweet tea she picked up the sugar packets on the table and handed them to my wife and said no you sweeten it yourself. So my wife asked for an Arnold Palmer to bring some lemonade which we had to ask for several times before she showed up with the can. We asked for straws it never arrived I asked for lemon for my water that never arrived and when we ordered the entrées the salads came after the entrées were served. My son ordered a simple pizza and I asked for it to be crispy when it didn’t arrive I asked the waitress where it was and her response was it takes a long time to become crispy . This of course is not true because in the state of the art pizza oven they have it takes less than three minutes to become crispy. When I got up to see what was taking so long and found that there were no pizzas in the oven the line manager and the waitress started arguing that he had put it in the window and somebody else may have picked it up and taking it to another tab
Great Fettuccine and Tiramisu
I love D’Amico’s, and have been a patron for many years. I have one objection at that is to the increase in price of cocktails, using the same very small portions. I would give five stars for every category, except for the poor value on this area.
We had a fabulous time. This neighborhood Italian restaurant has excellent service and delicious food. We love shopping on the area and the. Having a great Italian .meal
Always great service and food. We’ve been coming here for 30 years!
The ingredients are so fresh that no matter what you order will be just what you wanted to have for lunch or dinner.
Good food for a moderate price.
We absolutely loved the food. It was the best lasagna I've ever eaten, and my wife enjoyed the salmon special.
We love D'Amico's. The cozy tucked-away neighborhood cafe feel of it that you don't find in the 'big box' restaurants. The food was excellent and our server made our family dinner out extra special.
I love D’Amico’s and have been going there for years. The food is great, the personel wonderful, and I love to support local business owners. My one complaint is with the increase in prices for cocktails. I am happy to pay a fair price for a good drink, but the recent increase in prices with the continued small portions is very disappointing. I no longer order any alcohol when I eat at D’Amicos. I am not a big drinker and never have more than one drink, but I very much look forward to a cocktail before dinner, but cannot Justice $12 for a four ounce drink
Great food, great experience and brings back memories of
the original D’Amico’s on Westheimer.
Always great service and food. Good kids menu
We were a party of four. Noise level would have interfered with our ability to have a conversation if we had not been in a booth. Food was excellent. Orders included gnocchi, risotto, and ravioli. They were all delicious and the gnocchi was the best I have ever had. Friendly service and an reasonably priced bottle of wine made for a perfect meal. Oh..and the homemade bread is fabulous too.
Great food and service. Nice variety to select from. We each had different dishes and all four were delicious. Served timely and hot. Deserts were delicious also.
I would recommend during non-peak times. I felt very crowded.
We had not visited since the evolution began to more cafe than market years ago. Pleasantly surprised by the breadth of menu choices and the quality of entrees we selected. The quiet atmosphere was a welcome departure from the usual noisy venues around town. We look forward to exploring the menu further.
Delicious homemade pasta! Our server was helpful with recommendations and attentive.
D'Amico's has the most authentic Italian food of anywhere I have eaten in the Houston area! The tiramisu is amazing!
We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 20 years and we have never been disappointed. The food is good and the portions are ample. My only criticism is that the service is spotty. Sometimes it is superb and sometimes a bit slow depending on the waiter you get—-but that does not stop us from returning. Any one going there will truly enjoy it
D'Amico's is consistently good. The quality of the food and service makes it one of my favorite restaurants.
First, despite what the website says, parking is NOT paid for with your meal - past two hours you must pay to exit the garage. Second, beware the kitchen door in the back - it swings into the hall and my wife was knocked into the wall and her ankle cut by a fool coming out of the kitchen. ("Sorry" didn't cover the surprise or the hurt, jerk.) Third, when you ask a long-time waiter about the wine, he shouldn't need to go ask someone else - learn you craft or lose your tip. Fourth, keep your waiter fingers OUT of the water and drink glasses. Last, cut back on the salt. Comparing notes, we were all feeling sick that night or the next day and everyone agreed it was because the food is generally too salty. We used to like the place. I hope we never go back. Next time friends ask to meet there - we're saying, "No."
Great experience with friends
The food was good and plentiful (we took home go boxes). We also ordered a very good Chianti which had a reasonable price. We have been going there for years and it has been consistent.
Amazing as always. We come here every year for our anniversary and our server made it extra special this year.
I really enjoyed meeting a friend here at D'Amico's for dinner. We were seated quickly and service was outstanding.
Celebrated my sisters birthday- great lunch specials and awesome service!
