D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe - Rice Village
Great food, great experience and brings back memories of
the original D’Amico’s on Westheimer.
Always great service and food. Good kids menu
We were a party of four. Noise level would have interfered with our ability to have a conversation if we had not been in a booth. Food was excellent. Orders included gnocchi, risotto, and ravioli. They were all delicious and the gnocchi was the best I have ever had. Friendly service and an reasonably priced bottle of wine made for a perfect meal. Oh..and the homemade bread is fabulous too.
Great food and service. Nice variety to select from. We each had different dishes and all four were delicious. Served timely and hot. Deserts were delicious also.
I would recommend during non-peak times. I felt very crowded.
We had not visited since the evolution began to more cafe than market years ago. Pleasantly surprised by the breadth of menu choices and the quality of entrees we selected. The quiet atmosphere was a welcome departure from the usual noisy venues around town. We look forward to exploring the menu further.
Delicious homemade pasta! Our server was helpful with recommendations and attentive.
D'Amico's has the most authentic Italian food of anywhere I have eaten in the Houston area! The tiramisu is amazing!
We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 20 years and we have never been disappointed. The food is good and the portions are ample. My only criticism is that the service is spotty. Sometimes it is superb and sometimes a bit slow depending on the waiter you get—-but that does not stop us from returning. Any one going there will truly enjoy it
D'Amico's is consistently good. The quality of the food and service makes it one of my favorite restaurants.
First, despite what the website says, parking is NOT paid for with your meal - past two hours you must pay to exit the garage. Second, beware the kitchen door in the back - it swings into the hall and my wife was knocked into the wall and her ankle cut by a fool coming out of the kitchen. ("Sorry" didn't cover the surprise or the hurt, jerk.) Third, when you ask a long-time waiter about the wine, he shouldn't need to go ask someone else - learn you craft or lose your tip. Fourth, keep your waiter fingers OUT of the water and drink glasses. Last, cut back on the salt. Comparing notes, we were all feeling sick that night or the next day and everyone agreed it was because the food is generally too salty. We used to like the place. I hope we never go back. Next time friends ask to meet there - we're saying, "No."
Great experience with friends
The food was good and plentiful (we took home go boxes). We also ordered a very good Chianti which had a reasonable price. We have been going there for years and it has been consistent.
Amazing as always. We come here every year for our anniversary and our server made it extra special this year.
I really enjoyed meeting a friend here at D'Amico's for dinner. We were seated quickly and service was outstanding.
Celebrated my sisters birthday- great lunch specials and awesome service!
We have eaten at D'Amico's many times and have enjoyed our experience there every time. The food is AMAZING and the atmosphere is relaxing. Love, Love, Love!! Highly recommend!!
Very noisy and cramped, but tasty food and service made up for it.
Waitress was a clueless Millennial, who did not know the menu or the specials and didn't much care. I had the chicken Caesar salad. Chicken was cooked dry; the anchovy in the Caesar dressing was so strong that I could not eat it. My date was so disappointed with the side house salad to her entree that she pushed it aside. I scraped the chicken chips off of my salad and put it on her house salad, so that I'd have something to eat. The bread was good.
The place has expanded since I was here last. But the service and the food was great, as usual! The tiramisu is THE BEST!
Nice ambiance, cozy. Wait staff was attentive to our needs, and we never rain out of drink or food. We were there for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. The food servings were perfect for lunch, not too much, and not too little. The dishes had good flavor, and would definitely compare it to good old fashion home cooking. Loved it.
Peter was fantastic. Food was delicious!
Great Italian food. Very nice ambiance
Easy parking for Rice Village in Garage right behind with no fees under 2 hours.
Service was incredibly slow and the food was not worth the price. Food was mediocre at best and not worth how much I paid for it
One of my top "go-to" places in Houston. Service impeccable. Food is outstanding AND consistent. N O surprises. I'm there for lunch or dinner at least once a month.
Love sitting outside with our puppy!!
They give you lots of bread while you're waiting for your entrees and are not as stingy as some other Italian restaurants. I had the Risotto di Gamberi which all the flavors were there, although the rice was under cooked. The inside of the rice was hard and since we were in a hurry, I didn't have time to ask them to remake it or anything like that. Although everything else was really good.
Casual Rice Village spot with nice patio. Good food service, and value.
What a neighborhood gem! Wonderful people and great food!
We always enjoy D’Amico’s whenever we’re in Houston! The veal ravioli is the best in the U.S. and I have eaten at hundreds of great Italian spots....no comparison! Waiters are friendly and timely with very good wine selection. Be sure to top it off with fresh made gelato 👍🏼
All was great except upon entering there was no hostess for quite a while. probably between 5-10 minutes. A waiter came over twice and said she was coming.
D'Amico's was lovely. We had an outdoor table, which in Spring is always relaxing and fun. There was a cool breeze flowing, and we enjoyed a bottle of their house wine along with three lovely meals. They are accommodating with gluten-free options, which is a huge plus for anyone like me who has medical requirements to eliminate gluten from my diet. The GF noodles were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delectable. The other two parties had the lasagne, which was also quite good. The waiter was well-informed on all of my options, which was very much appreciated.
One down side: parking in the area (new meters) is difficult, at best. One must download an app in order to pay, and it is a real pain to do so. We found the parking garage at the last minute, after a meter manager (some guy that pounces on you if you don't get the app downloaded immediately) came up to our car to let us know that we must pay immediately or move. Had we not been meeting friends, we would have left the area, as we were so mad about the harassment! The parking garage works well, but I imagine it must get full quite quickly. There must be other solutions to managing the new meter system. Unless you're a local and have the app already, it is more trouble than it is worth!
Always impresses our first time guests!
Not a complete bar. Nice wines but limited liquor selection. Will return.
Service is always excellant, food is served hot and tasty. The wine selection is good and fairly priced. We visit every trip to MD Anderson.
Issac was wonderful
Great service, great food! We will return. The waiters have been there a long time and they are pros!
Cute Italian cafe with outdoor space. Lunch special choice of 3 items changing daily til 2pm for $8.99 was perfect for lunch. I liked the polenta cannelloni and stuffed portobello mushroom.
My Granddaughter and I went here before the theater. She had eaten here before and loved the food. She was right. It was delicious homemade Italian food. The server was friendly and prompt. The drinks were delicious, definitely not watered down. The crab claw appetizer was fantastic. Salad wasn't anything special and I thought it was pricey for what you got. I hope to go again because there are so many things I want to try.
