Despite taking a reservation the restaurant was CLOSED. You should update your settings
We made a reservation that was confirmed for 2 on Sunday at 5:30. When we arrived the restaurant was closed! Would have been helpful to be notified. Open Table, we blame you for this mishap. Do not confirm or even take a reservation until you are certain it will be fulfilled.
Even though my reservation was confirmed the day before by my responding to the OpenTable email I received asking me to confirm that I was going to be there on Tuesday, when I got to the restaurant it was CLOSED. No one was there and the doors were locked.
Very quiet on a Sunday. Nice to be open! Pleasant setting and friendly service. Will be back!
Consistently great!
Our dinner was excellent, as was the service. It was quite noisy and difficult to have a conversation, but we will definitely go back again and again, as we have in the past. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Four of us enjoyed our dinners. First of all it's nice to see that they added vegetarian items. I had the meat loaf with steamed asparagus and a baked potato......very generous portion and excellent. My wife just had a mixed green salad. Service was very accommodating, but we had three different servers during the course of the meal. Booths are very comfortable and the restaurant is not noisy unless you come when the bar action is more hectic/ We always ask to sit near the back of the restaurant away from the bar area..
Food is very boring and way overpriced
A major problem, for me, is that the picture they've posted on Open Table is not at all what the restaurant was like. The Open Table picture played a large role in my selection of that restaurant. From the picture, with small tablecloth-covered tables with flower vases on them, I expected a quiet, elegant restaurant when I booked. In contrast, the place is a fricking madhouse--booths instead of tablecloth-covered tables, and a decibel level high enough to drive you mad. I wish Open Table would require them to post an accurate photograph. On the plus side, the food was good, and the staff was very kind and attentive.
We ordered the Valentine's Day special dinner. The appetizer was one shrimp cocktail for two people. The shrimp appeared to be raw and were not deveined. After deveining the shrimp by hand, and biting into them, they were obviously raw or severely under-cooked. We should have sent it back, but we were with friends and we didn't want to disrupt their dinner. On the other hand, the salmon was extremely overcooked to the point of being tasteless. We were then given one piece of cheesecake to share. I can report that the cheesecake was excellent. We have been going to Daily Grill since it opened many years ago and we have had many lovely dinners there. This is the worst meal we have ever had there. I'm not sure we will want to go back.
Hello Arthur, First, we want to sincerely apologize that you and your guest had such an unsatisfactory experience with regards to the shrimp cocktail and salmon, the preparation you described definitely does not meet our standards and we're very disappointed to hear about this. However, we want to thank you for your feedback, this gives us the opportunity to improve and ensure that you and all our guests leave completely satisfied. In fact, our goal is to exceed our Guest expectations! This is indeed a very rare occurrence and given the circumstances, if you would allow us we'd like to show how sorry we are, we'd like to invite you and your guest to return for dinner on us so we can have the opportunity to give you the experience you deserve and that Daily Grill usually provides, please contact myself or any manager and we'll make a reservation for you. We want you to know that we truly value your patronage over the years and want to be sure you continue to join us in future! Best regards, Brent Bambic Manager 310-309-2170
We did the Valentine's day prix fixe for 2 that cost $60. Large portions and solid value overall. Pretty generic American food
Good food but waiter was running around like a chicken with his head cut off
We were satisfied. Price is reasonable
Everything was excellent. My only complaint was it was extremely noisy. I will definitely go back many more times.
We eat here all the time. The food is consistently good, the menu varies with the season and the wait staff is attentive and efficient. I highly recommend Daily Grill to everyone I know!
We came to visut with eachother and have a meal, but were seated at a round table next to the bar area. It was very noisy, hardly able to have a conversation! I would have requested moving but others slready had their water and bread, etc and didn't want to get up.
We were a party of five seated at the back of the restaurant. When two of us arrived, it was very noisy, but fortunately many of the parties were close to finishing their lunches and leaving (we intentionally scheduled a late lunch). Everything else was fine; good service, good food, and parking validation, which can be hard to get in LA. There's valet parking underground, but self parking right next to it, so unless the garage is full or you need to be right next to the stairs/elevator, take an extra moment to look around for a space.
It was our first visit to this Daily Grill in more than 10 years because we had moved out of the area, but now that we're back, I'm sure we'll be visiting more often.
Reliable and pleasant
Portions are generous, the service was fairly attentive, and we enjoyed our dinners. My husband had a Cobb salad, while I had the pan seared salmon, with spinach, ginger carrots and peanut cole slaw. The salmon was very tasty and not overdone. We turned down the delicious sourdough bread and butter that usually starts off the evening, as we were both dieting. (That bread is a killer for me.) It's nice to be able to talk in a restaurant - a rarity these days.
I live near by so I go there a lot. This time however, my friends meal was not cooked to her satisfaction, so they took it back leaving mine in front of me. That was a little awkward, - to have a hot meal in front of me that politeness dictated I could not touch until she had hers back.
Food & service were both great.
The restaurant was very crowded for lunch on the day I was there.
The noise level was so loud that my guest and I could not have a
conversation and hear the other.
Our server was good. He checked back often to see if we needed anything.
Our lunch was fine. I had the combo with soup and half sandwich. My
guest wanted the combo with salad and soup but that was not part of the
combo. She had to order both separately. It would be nice if the restaurant
included soup and salad on their combo menu. Both were fine.
I would recommend the Daily Grill and will continue to go there often.
Sat at the bar and had a lovely bowl of soup. The house reds were delicious. Definitely be returning.
I ordered a margarita and it was mostly ice. My brother ordered the clam chowder and had to send
it back because it was so watered down. Also my baked potato was hard. It wasn't very crowded for
a Saturday night, probably because their food isn't up too par.
Great neighborhood restaurant with something for everyone on the menu. We had salmon and vegetables. They have THE best sour dough bread!
Great food in a relaxed environment. Friendly staff and management.
Great service
Met a friend I had not seen in many years and it was wonderful to just kind of sit and chat. Wait staff was very accommodating
It was the weekend and the bar area was packed and noisy.
There were not too many customers in the dining area when we arrived.
However when we left the restaurant was crowded.
Our server was good. She checked on us several times.
Our food was served hot and was delicious.
We enjoyed our dinner and felt comfortable throughout.
Would recommend it to anyone who likes good food.
We eat lightly.....their delicious bread, a shared Caesar Salad, one Chicken Pot Pie and one order of Asparagus. Everything was very good.
Food and service were excellent; easy parking
I always enjoy going to the Daily Grill. Good, clean food an delicious bread.
Sat at the bar and ate. service was too slow with the short latin man being unable to handle providing quality service.
Warm welcome and good food but too noisy for truly productive meetings.
The amiable staff and cozy booths make this a great spot for lunch or dinner with friends but a noisy challenge for any business meeting which sucks because its smack dab in the middle of a business center.
Portions are also not generous if well prepared. My Ahi Tuna Appetizers are just short of satisfactory size. Salads are smallish as well. Quality is not lacking.
Service was good if a bit too many questions. It felt like an interrogation just getting the water. Lime or lemon? Ice or no ice? Flat or bottled sparkling or tonic or? Yikes.
And yes there is the noise. Acoustics be danmed, this place gets loud when it fills up, not offering a great spot for any significant business deal with distractions of service and sound.
Come for lunch or happy hour with friends and find another solution for the heavy lifting of business lunch.
Good food, service, and ambiance! It is my go-to for office and business lunches close to the office.
The food was excellent especially the trout. Service was very professional and attentive!!
Food is very good but not very creative. If you like comfort food, this is the place. The service, however, is extraordinarily good. The waitresses really aim to please and will make any modification or substitute you request, within reason. And I always ask for modifications. I loved the trout almondine but they replaced it with trout with panko. Since I avoid gluten, i requested that they make my trout the way they used to, without the panko. They accommodated my request and it was excellent. They also brought a little bowl of extra lemon sauce and left the salt off my sweet potato fries, as I requested. The waitresses are also very competent and the food came out quickly and hot.
Love their bread, Caesar Salad and Chicken Pot Pie......Makes for a great casual dinner for my wife and myself with relatively good value. Service is good, atmosphere pleasant.
We all ordered the large ahi tuna appetizer, which we have ordered before. Instead of getting large and juice chunks of tuna covered in sesame seeds, we got tiny, dry pieces of tuna with a few sesame seeds. Also, it was served warm, which is never a good thing for sushi. Very much not worth the price, or any price for that matter.
Always a good dinner with quite atmosphere!!!Service always good!!!
Everything was delicious but too much salad dressing on the Caesar
