Everything was wonderful from food to service. Would come back again soon
Just awful! We walked out! After waiting 25 minutes past our reservation time; they wanted to seat us on top of a group of about 20 loud drunk people that they were allowing to take over the dining room. When I expressed my dislike of the table, I was told either take it or wait longer; this is what they had—take it or wait. The restaurant was being dominated by a bunch of drunks and run by incompetent staff. No one could talk or be heard; everyone was being drowned out by the shrieking and screaming of the drunks. While walking out 2 managers tried to stop us. And not even the offer of free food was enough to get us to stay. They were over booked; with tables shoved to close together and staff who were nonchalant about providing good customer service. Or an attempt to modulate what was going on. There is a clear and distinct change and clear lack of respect for loyal customers and what is customer service; this was all about how many can we shove in and shove out. A profound disappointment; DaCapo’s has lost sight of who is the customer and that customer service doesn’t mean that we serve.
Food is always great!
Food was excellent. Rolls, best I’ve had. Only issue and it’s an odd issue, was the service was too quick. 37 minutes from the time we walked in to the time we left . For me that’s too fast for fine dining.
We can always count on a good meal at Da Capo in Litchfield. My mom liked it there also so we were remembering her on her birthday . Very good meal and always plenty of food.💖
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Had a relaxing enjoyable lunch. Never felt rushed.
Never disappointed with our experience here. Food is always wonderful!! Our waitress, Keisha, was very attentive!
Always consistently good food. Salads and pizza are top notch!
Great family restaurant and also good for date nights! We all love it there.
Always a lovely evening. Great food, terrific service.
Friendly but uneven service (never got water refilled etc)
Sat outside on a beautiful day, looking at the beautiful nature view for 2 1/2 hours - a long time. The staff was kind, attentive, gracious and didn't hurry us. Loved the food - served quickly and it was delicious! This is now our 'go-to' restaurant in the Litchfield area.
A little pricey but you get a high quality meal and large portions. Pizza crust is out of this world delish.
Enjoyed everything about our dinner at da Capo. A wonderful evening.
da Capo is always good. I love the Toscana salad with salmon (it's a nice, big piece of fish with a crisp exterior and smooth interior), though I was disappointed that the polenta croutons were much smaller than usual: I love the polenta croutons!!! The turkey club panini was good with a generous side salad. The deck is a wonderful place to enjoy lunch, and service was good.
Was a bit surprised to pay $17.00 for a Manhattan....candidly I thought that was pricey
My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening. I ordered the Ravioli of the Day and I have to say it was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. It was so delicious. It was Lobster Ravioli and I was expecting it to cost more than it did. My husband's dish was also excellent. We ended our meal with coffee and dessert and the coffee was also great. I had a cannoli which was ok, not the best I've had. We were also there during a horrible thunderstorm which blew out the electricity, but they either have a generator or the power came right back on. Despite this glitch it was business as usual for the staff and the manager that night was phenomenal. Bravo!
Great food, fantastic drinks!
Food was okay, risotto was bland and food lacked some flavor. Service was great and restaurant wasn’t too crowded.
Food was amazing as usual and service was great . I would recommend DaCapo to anyone.
This was my first visit to da Capo in Litchfield and it will not be my last. The food and the service were both outstanding.
We love this restaurant!! Excellent service with a prompt and professional staff. They make every effort to seat you quickly but it helps even more when you book a reservation on Open Table!! We always start with a salad and typically share the Toscana. Today we enjoyed the grilled octopus which was tender and delicious. Next we share an entree and today it was clams and linguine. Delicious white wine, olive oil sauce with slivers of garlic and chopped clams to compliment the whole clams in the shell. Fresh baked toasty rolls with olive oil complete the meal. We prefer to share a meal between 2 people and eat the bread and enjoy wine than have separate entrees with leftovers. The tiramisu is excellent and a lovely way to end the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful dinner on the patio. Beautiful summer evening with good friends. Excellent service, delicious food couldn’t ask for more!
Service was outstanding - very attentive. Food was very good. Hot lobster roll, eggplant pizza, lobster ravioli. Nice landscaped garden off the patio for outdoor dining.
My favorite place to go for dinner when visiting my family in CT. Prices are reasonable. Food is tasty. Portions are decent. I could drink their red sauce! I is so delicious!
Food was excellent! Favorite Apple salad and Caesar salad.. Great pepperoni pizza and drinks. Ate outside. Was all around a very enjoyable experience 👍
Went for lunch with my wife and friend. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Very large portions. All had take home.
This is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful outdoor patio. It was the perfect day to dine outside - & the food was delicious!!
Horrible service.
Homemade veggie chips (w/ yogurt dip app) were less crisp than usual but still delicious-nary a 1 left. Our meals were great. Service a little lax, on a very busy Thurs night, but we had a great meal & a nice time.
We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. It was busy but our reservation assured us a seat. We very much enjoy this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious. We always start with a Toscana salad to split complimented by the warm, freshly baked rolls and olive oil. Our entree was the clams vongole white and the lasagna. The clams were chopped and whole in the shell with large slivers of fresh garlic perfectly cooked. The lasagna is hot, cheesy and abundant. The meal is enjoyed with a lovely glass of montepulciano red. The manager Brandon greeted us at our table and made sure we were enjoying our meal. A tin of freshly baked cookies were gifted to us upon our departure. I highly recommend this restaurant for it delicious food, excellent service and lovely ambiance.
The service was very slow and inattentive to start and then our food began to come to the table. The toscana salad was covered with polenta croutons that were cold, soggy and dripping oil which required removing them from the salad immediately. The haddock dish I had was very oily, edible but not enjoyable. We were. very disappointed as we have eaten at Da Capo in Avon many times and find their food much better but tried Litchfield due to the management change and most of the quality employees leaving the Avon restaurant.
All in all I think Da Capo has lost our family as customers and we will need to find a new weekly go to restaurant.
Probably the worst food i have ever eaten in a restaurant with an inexperienced waitress who didn’t even know how to open a bottle of wine.
My family always enjoys the great choices of food offered at a reasonable price.
At our last dinner there, the salmon was cooked to perfection
& the chicken parmigiana was tasty as well.
The daCapo Chips were terrific as always! We tried the Toscano salads (one with shrimp and one with chicken) and they were great - I would eat it every day if I could! There was a mistake in our orders when they were brought to our table but the waitress was so helpful and did her best to make sure it was corrected. The kitchen actually made a mistake on one of the corrected orders, but we took it anyway and it was delicious. It could have left us with a bad feeling about the place but the waitress was so apologetic and handled it very well so we made the best of it and would definitely go there again.
Great food, great waitress. My boyfriend got the special (lobster ravioli) which was delicious. I got the haddock with root vegetables and gnocchi which was also delicious. Big portions
The food was excellent. All of us had different seafood/pasta entrees and they were very, very good. I really liked the calamari appetizer, too.
I've had the appetizer before, so I knew it was good when we ordered it. An excellent start to what I would call the summer season.
Our server wasn't great, but our table didn't seem to be in his main area.
The food and the service was excellent. And the portions were so generous! We had enough food to have leftovers for days!
Great food. Fun service.
Recommend Da Capo for their salads and pizza. Have been here many times. This visit was disappointed with server-- we specifically asked for soup to come first, then the salad and then the pizza. But everything came at once.
