I’ve been going to Cutters for over 30 years. It’s all the right things in a restaurant for me- waterfront, fresh seafood, elegance. We had a 6:00 reservation and arrived a few minutes before. The host was busy helping a special needs couple and courteously took time with them. However, three other parties (including us) were hanging out the doors and into the sidewalk while he assisted them, blowing a lot of cold air in. I feel there could have been a better check in system. He then left them standing there (and the rest of us) while he went and cleared a table for them, sanitized it and replaced the linen tablecloth. He then returned and showed them to their table and seated them. At that point he checked us in (a good ten minutes later) and then asked us to step aside while he checked in the next parties?? When he finally seated us, he could not have been more pleasant and courteous, even offering us a window table. I feel he was doing a really great job, however the management should have had better staffing to accommodate these multiple tasks that he was doing alone. Once seated, our waiter was wonderful- friendly, knowledgeable and well versed in our dietary needs. Overall, we really enjoyed it, but needed a bit of patience. We do understand things are challenging during this COVID recovery period. Food was delicious!
The food was fabulous. The service was even better and delivery was fast.
I absolutely love Cutters! The mood once you step in is extremely cozy and every worker is so welcoming. Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed and their drinks are delicious! Food is tasty with many different-tasting options. Would definitely recommend!
we have been going to this restaurant for almost 30 years, it's a seattle icon, always very good, great views of the sound.
Good food, and views of the sound. We received great service.
Food was not particularly tasteful. Shrimp cocktail was disappointing as shrimp was not very fresh. Coming from northeast, one knows what good and fresh seafood taste should be. Overpriced for food. Drinks were good. Would not go back again.
We had a very nice time. The seafood was great and the view is amazing. The quinoa salad was way too salty.
Really great experience. Delicious food, good atmosphere and the servers were very nice. Ethan served us and he was awesome. Definitely would come back again!
Happy hour is excellent- will come back for dinner
Waited for 45-min for our dinner after appetizer was finished. Finally had to hunt down someone to find it, only to have it delivered with sauce congealed on top. Flavorless sauce. Sent back. Exec chef went back and remade it himself (and took cost off, which was nice of him).
Watched as another table returned the exact same dish we had (with the new made sauce), as steak improperly cooked. Clearly mid-week is not the time to go to Cutters.
Overall it was a decent safe option , very few people
We were celebrating my son’s 21 birthday and he wanted a place that had really good crab. He also wasn’t that interested in drinking so we shared one cocktail, which was fantastic.
Service was very good and we had a lovely time. Only drawback was they were out of several items but that didn’t detract from the overall experience.
We sat at a window table and enjoyed the view and the delicious food!
Food tasted great! The risotto cakes are super tasty! crispy pork belly appetizer was a hit as well! First time visiting the restaurant. Due to covid related spaced out seating we had to wait 15 minutes paste our reservation to be seated since earlier diners were taking longer than expected.
Overall, the food was very good. The quinoa salad was mostly quinoa, very little salad. Sliders were great, as were the oysters. The salmon was slightly over-cooked.
Ethan was very attentive and alert to any needs we had.
Food was good, but service supbar. Went for my birthday dinner and it didn’t feel really special. Just felt like a regular dinner.
Overall a disappointing experience. The tables are spaced well apart but the lighting is misaligned as a result (bright spotlights in our faces). Also, the music was often strange for the environment and too loud. I had an oyster shooter, sushi roll and the pork belly. All were disappointing. To top it off we were charged for the wrong tab which is yet to be resolved. I’m trying to give them a pass because of COVID. Hopefully next time will be better.
Great seafood, especially the king crab legs. Service was great!
Ambiance was nice, we were visiting from out of town and came on a recommendation. Even with the limited menu many items were sold out/unavailable. In fact 3 of the 4 items we were ordering were unavailable. When we made secondary selections my husband received the wrong food. Honest mistake from the waiter, I understand and he was apologetic. It was just the icing on the unavailable menu cake.
The staff seemed to be very helpful at the beginning and they were very busy this visit. There were 4 in our party and we ordered an appetizer that we had to ask about that they forgot to put in and then one of the dishes had a piece of plastic in it which they identified but it didn't seem to be an issue on their part. Kind of disappointing that they didn't offer any compensation for the plastic in the food or the couple of other things that were asked for and not received. Like I said they were busy, just not that busy.
Food was good- service slow - disappointing they did not have oysters
Very good food and service is fair. They do follow Covid-19 safety recommendations for all customers and food servers.
First time dining at Cutters and I was not disappointed. For starters, I had the best mojito I’ve ever had and tasty calamari. It was happy hour and we took advantage! For dinner, he ordered crab cakes with succotash - an out of the box choice and loved every bite! I splurged for the Wagyu steak and salmon Oscar. Every bite melted in my mouth! Our waiter was out of this world- I wish I could remember her name. We can’t wait to go back our next trip to Seattle.
Enjoyed the food and ambience. Nice view of the ocean and waterfront.
Service was okay, bar service was extremely slow, and food was mediocre at best!
Probably the best halibut fish and chips we’ve ever had and the burger was amazing! The service is what really killed the experience. It took 20 minutes to get water after we had been seated and I had to constantly remind the staff when it was empty, the salad that we ordered right when we sat down didn’t come until the meal another 20 minutes later. Server was not attentive and seemed to be very distracted. He blamed the kitchen on the salad not coming out earlier. As front of the house, he should’ve at least communicated that there was a delay - we just thought he forgot
Wonderful as always! Was my first time eating out at a restaurant since COVID and I was pleasantly surprised. I felt very comfortable and our server Ethan was great.
Do not order the crab sampler, not worth the money or the hassle. Wagyu however was a good deal. Great view & good location.
Crab was tops!
Out of town family
The food was good but perhaps a bit proudly priced for the overall experience. Attention to detail would elevate the experience—like cleaning off the plates from drips and food spatter before serving and offering sea salt rather than just table salt. The service was good and professional.
The place would benefit from a remodel as it definitely has a sort of ‘90s banquet hall vibe (long, mostly featureless room with a curtain room divider and some old, muted Vegas lounge carpet). The music was very loud and awful—to the point that we considered leaving. It was some sort of B-side club mix that totally detracted from any ambiance the view provided, but was likely necessary to overcome the vulgar shouts of Seattle youth just on the other side of the glass. Overall, it was good, but not an experience I’d pay for again at that price point.
We were pretty disappointed in some of the food we ordered. We ordered a steak medium rare and it came out medium well. We also ordered the halibut and jambalaya, but the halibut was overcooked. The prawn cocktail and the clam chowder were excellent. Our waiter was not very attentive at all. He didn’t come around and check on us or give us more water or ask if we wanted more drinks until we were practically through with our meal.
Excellent service! Our large family was not able to sit at the same table to celebrate my sister's birthday (due to COVID restrictions) but the staff was able to sit us at tables across from each other and took both tables orders at the same time which still made it feel like we were in the same group. Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and kind ( I believe his name was Ethan?). He even sprinkled confetti on both of the tables when he heard we were celebrating a birthday. The food was excellent and the location is beautiful. Great happy hour menu!
First, I did dine during Covid-19 times so I appreciate the restaurant being open at all, and perhaps the pandemic impacted the quality of their food... impossible for me to say. I was underwhelmed with their chowder with fresh crab, sushi rolls, cioppino (though I'm spoiled by home made and being from San Francisco) and pasta. On the plus side, their drinks and desert were both good. Ambiance wise, very middle of the road, and that's before taking into account the homeless outside their windows which they have no control over. In case anyone wonders, we didn't notice a dress code; workout clothes and flip-flops for men were both present. Service wise, it took them a moment to figure out who our waiter would be but after that it was fine, nothing remarkable. The host seemed nice for the moment we interacted with him, and he gave us a spacious table in one of the better spots. All of this was socially distanced as required. With a full meal and drinks easily being over $100/p, there are many better options in Seattle.
Such an adorable and fun restaurant! The food and drinks were delicious and service was great as well!
Restaurant is very nice with a nice view. Service is friendly and the food is good, but not exceptional.
Food and Service were spectacular. The chef came to visit tableside and waiter JB was excellent, there but not hovering.
Food was prepared perfectly, Kasshi oysters excellent, salaman and Pittsburgh Rare prime beef were also perfection.
We will be back. From South Florida, see you soon,
Richard and Jess
Excellent place to show off the water views to a special loved ones, special occassions, or you just really need some crab!
Dining room was closed off with curtains, we had a birthday reservation, all they did was throw some confetti on the table not even a free freaking desert! Tables were set boringly and looked as if we were at a family reunion. This place used to be nice with white tablecloth and used to be the place to go and his seriously gone downhill and I doubt it's to Covid. We spent about $200 and we should have went to Daniels or Palisade instead
Great food, wonderful staff, attentive but unobtrusive:-) always a good experience!
