   One of my favorite restaurants. My wife and I celebrate our Anniversary at Current every year, but we really need to go more often. Service in Utah can be hit or miss, but we have always been very happy with the service here. The hostess and our waitress both made a point to know it was our anniversary and congratulate us. I asked our waitress to suggest a wine pairing for my entre and she made a wonderful suggestion that I really enjoyed. The food is amazing. I will admit that we aren't foodies or have super discerning palettes, but everything we have ordered has been fabulous. Best fish dishes I have had in Salt Lake. I typically order beef or pork when we dine out, but the seafood is always done so well here that I go for the seafood at Current. We both absolutely love the Calamari appetizer. The portions are just right, not too much food but very satisfying. The atmosphere here is very nice, quiet, unassuming, and casual, but also more of a classy customer. We had a wonderful dinner and a very enjoyable anniversary. Thank you Current. We'll be seeing you again soon.

   Interesting food arrangements, enjoyed shrimp and grits, seafood Cobb salad was very good, wine list was very good, service was friendly and efficient. Will return even though the restaurant was very noisy, believe it may be a bit reduced if setting in a booth.

   Current was very kind to provide “Happy Anniversary” at the top of our menus. Service was excellent and cocktails were fabulous. The food was delicious and kitchen was very responsive. I gave the food a 4 out of 5 only because I felt some of the flavors could have been enhanced a little. Still very good.

   We had the best time celebrating my son’s 11th birthday at Current. Our server, Laura was so friendly and helpful. She even remembered us from our last visit which was over a year ago. The grilled octopus starter was amazing. All of the seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. One surprising highlight was the candy cap gelato which we ordered on Laura’s recommendation. It is flavored with a mushroom, but it has a delicate, sweet flavor somewhere between maple and marshmallow. I highly recommend Current because of the welcoming staff and fabulous menu.

   Everything was fantastic. For starters we did half a seafood tower and the mussels, and for entrees, our group had the fish stew, the scallops, and shrimp and grits. The coconut lemongrass broth of the stew was so delicious, the mussels in their smoky tomato broth were outstanding. The grits were perfect, as were the scallops. We will definitely be returning!

    We love Current, we loved the food as always, the ambience was great, and we saw good friends — but our server was well below Current’s excellent standards and they seemed very displeased with us from the beginning. We were disappointed only with that.

    Best seafood we've had in Salt Lake, with plenty of gluten-free options for my wife (who has celiac disease). We came here for the first time to celebrate our 20th anniversary and it did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

    The seafood here was prepared well, but it was not very fresh. Over $200 for two people with drinks and apps, no dessert. We don’t need to come here again.

    First time visiting and celebrating mother's day. Service was excellent. Food was very tasty but some of the portions were small. The fish stew did have a taste of every fish on the menu but no real broth or stew like look. My husbands cobb salad was amazing! Scallops cooked to perfection!

    This place is amazing. The food is superb. My party and I had the salmon, oysters, the halibut, and the crab cakes and everything was just delicious. Dessert was great, too! Our server Colton was stellar; gave us great suggestions, was engaging, polite, and checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything else. The atmosphere is great and it is not a noisy place. You can arrive early and have drinks next door at Under Current and then head back to Current when your table is ready. They were also very accommodating with my reservation, having taking it for the same day with no problem. Overall, this place is a 10/10.

    The food was good - the lobster tail side was not worth the cost. The service was bad. We were ignored for part of the time and the server forgot several items and we asked multiple times for them.

    First visit for an early meal before a movie date. The Old Fashion was delicious and both of our entrees were amazing (Fish Stew & Halibut w/ Bok Choy special). Our server was attentive and we made a plan to return in the next few weeks.

    SLC institution. Reliably fresh with a small, well curated offering of seafood dishes. The cocktails are creative and nicely engineered without being over the top. Ambiance is buzzy, and the design in modern with legacy bones.

    This restaurant is a gem. There are so many restaurants in Utah charging astronomical prices for terrible, substandard food, it is a real challenge to find a restaurant that delivers good food and good service. Current is a bit pricey, but at least you get really good food and excellent service, it is actually worth it. This is not a hit or miss place, it is consistently good thank goodness.     We went seeking oysters. There were only three options. I wanted the briniest and was recommended Blue Points. Very disappointed. Not only were they not briny but utterly flavorless. I exchanged three of them for another variety that had much more flavor (though not exactly briny either). Next we ordered the smoked clam dip appetizer. This had no detectable smoke flavor and was overly oily. Thankfully there were no complaints about the entrees. The service was good but given the price point and the largely lackluster food, I doubt I will return anytime soon.
