Amazing food and the scallops were the best I have ever had .
It’s pretry noisy in the restaurant but knowing that ahead of time makes it tolerable. The food was great! I highly recommend the Branzino.
SLC’s first and only foodie seafood restaurant , everything is well done
I ordered several oysters, the size of them is literally like almost nothing. It's the smallest oyster I'd ever seen all over the world. I was told they're from boston and washington state, and it's $4 each. I noticed some of my neighbor tables had oyster as well, but looked a bit bigger than mine. Pretty disappointed.
An exceptional food!, However , very pricey. It was pretty quite , until a group of younger crowd came in. Highly recommended for special occasions.
This is a very nice restaurant with good food and great staff. They have done a fantastic job of the building/architecture, it's just such a shame that the lighting is so intense, it really spoils the ambience. The pendant lights above the bar, including those in the restaurant appear to be turned up to the max, this really detracts from having a good time here as you feel as if you are under a spotlight.
Late night date. Service was fantastic. Food was also great. We ordered the branzino, and black cod dishes. Both were a hit. I also really love their simple and light house salad as a starter. Would recommend for fish lovers.
Great food, friendly service. Enjoyable meal
From the appetizer to dessert, everything was wonderful. We chose most items based on our server’s recommendations and she was right on the money.
Snow removal sucked for disabled customers
Great food, great service! Every recommendation was spot on - three different wines , main course and dessert . Randy was on point !
Had to complain about one waiter for the adjacent table that kept bending over sticking his butt in our face. Asked him to stop and his response was snarky... too bad, because the food was good.
Excellent service, high quality food, fun atmosphere
Sorry to say, but this has been my 3rd visit to Current and it is just average. The scallops were good, not great; had they been “great” I would have finished them...
Would be happier if you got a full martini 😏
My favorite restaurant in downtown SLC
Our experience was similar to a lot of other reviewers. The fish was good but not fabulous. The side dishes and sauces were interesting. On balance I thought it was pricey for what we got. The wait staff was very nice.
I really like the atmosphere at Current Fish and Oyster. We had a great booth. The hostess was very accommodating. Our waiter and the sommelier were great. I think the food is very expensive for what you get.
Curent is one of my favorites! The staff, food, service--are always top notch. Our server, Randy, was professional and friendly; the manager is exceedingly welcoming; the vibe is great fun. Go eat at Current!
Current is my go-to, and it never disappoints. For this evening had two kids in tow and we were perfectly seated at the round booth where they had enough freedom of movement that they didn't feel trapped and the adults felt free to talk. The staff was fantastic, as was the food.
Excellent. Sarah was lovely and knowledgeable. Will be back!!
Excellent small plates served promptly! The oysters were succulent and grilled calamari so good I’d return just to have it again. The ceviche was nicely prepared, bright and fresh. Very attentive service staff throughout the restaurant.
Food was okay not really worth the price. Terrible wine list.
The food wasn’t good enough for the price we paid and the service really wasn’t there. I couldn’t even finish the ginger soda. It really was awful. The whole place was noisy and we were kind of cornered off I felt like.
We’ve been here once before, and it was much better the first time. We went on Valentine’s Day, and paid a fortune for less than mediocre service and miniature portions of their regular menu. However, we do enjoy their food, and the cocktail list is very fun.
We tried the restaurant on Valentines Day! It was a special menu, not from their ordinary dinner menu. However, the selections were good for us. The server was excellent. She requested we order all three courses at the same time for efficiency in the kitchen. We were okay with this request. Both of us had the seared scallops and they were excellent. The manager brought us a couple of different wines to taste before ordering. That was an unusual approach, but it saved us from ordering a wine that was sub-par. Thanks for the evening!
Dungeness crab tasted old , steak was awful
I expect much more for 40$ a plate
There are much better options just blocks away
I’m afraid I’m done with this restaurant
Current is incredible. I love Current's work. I would highly recommend Current!
I have enjoyed myself every time I have gone to Current Fish & Oyster. It has a great relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious. I have tried a handful of dishes and liked everything... Branzino, oysters, shrimp cocktail, salmon, crab cakes, burger all delicious.
My favorite part about Current is that I have never felt rushed to order, eat, or leave the table for the next guess. They do a wonderful job letting each party enjoy their time and dinner together.
Thanks Current Fish & Oyster!!
Outstanding service and great food as always!!!
Mussels in safron chorizo broth was delicious. Seafood stew also good. Cod with rice and harissa was fresh but the setup didn’t click. Overall great for SLC but just good in general. Price point is a little high but in keeping with the local trend. Could use a better beer list. I would recommend it if you’re in town or live here. 3.5 stars.
Loved everything we tried! What a fantastic restaurant with a lot of fun options. We'll be back.
Our favorite Salt Lake City restaurant. Both the food and wine selections change periodically to reflect new sources of main dishes and innovative wine selections. The staff is friendly and prepared to assist you with food and beverage choices. The West Coast oysters are among the best we have had, including the years that we spent living in the Seattle area. We will continue to dine at Current and to take out of town guests there for special meals.
We ate here for my daughter’s 10th birthday. They treated her like royalty and everyone had a great time. Food, drinks and service were all outstanding.
Lots of ambience, lot's of diners and good to a little better than good food. Did not care so much
for the bread service. If you are going to charge for it, make it something memorable. Short wine pours won't get you consistent repeat business. Oyster prices are ridiculous. All in all, pretty good, but nothing to write home about.
Current is a lovely restaurant and our server was very attentive. My concerns are that due to the concrete floors the noise level is pretty high. It was difficult to carry on a conversation without raising your voice. We had the crab legs and they were very dry and I would never order those again. The mussels were good and the ahi tuna ceviche was really good. The oysters were just okay.
Appetizers, drinks, entrees all absolutely fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend
Great place, I have been there several times and each time I enjoy it
We had a meeting at Current, This restaurant was recommended by a friend and it was a good recommendation. Great food and service. Ill be back.
Celebrated my father's birthday and the experience was wonderful! They even printed a happy birthday message on menu for us!
