I really enjoyed my meal here! I did the tasting menu. There were so many things I had that I can't list them all. All I can say is I highly recommend this restaurant and if you go, do the tasting menu, you won't be disappointed!
Truly one of the best in Pittsburgh. Justin is amazing.
The flavors are powerful and amazing. Did the 6 course meal and it was great. Such flavor diversity. Only one bite in the whole thing was iffy.
Fabulous place. We had the tasting with the wine pairing.
Cure is one of our "go to" spots for a relaxed and fun meal that can satisfy all guest tastes. While I think the beer list could be expanded, the craft cocktails and wine list will satisfy nearly all tastes and budgets. Start with any size "Salumi" and you will not be disappointed. If I could request one thing, that would be that more of the delicious mustard's be included, not just 3 spoon-fulls spread across a corner. The raw oysters were delicious, as was the beef tartare. Everyone in my group ordered a different entree, and nobody was disappointed. The girls were happy to order the 1/2 portions of the pasta, which after the Salumi and appetizers was the "perfect size" according to them. The guys ordered the fish and the NY strip, and each was fantastic.
For what its worth, I am not a fan of the old fashioned martini glasses as they always seem small to me, but fortunately they were filled to the rim and DELICIOUS all the way around our table.
Always enjoy CURE, Always enjoy the atmosphere, the chef and owner are great and it is an enjoyable "come as you are" fun meal that we always return to.
Treated my boyfriend to a meal last night after he kept talking about it every time I've been in town. We had several small plates, starting with the beef tartare and oysters on the half shell. The Aunt Dottie oysters we had were amazing the the cucumber-yuzu mignonette is insanely good. The beef tartare, also excellent. We also shared the "nice little salad" and the "this is why you are here" or whatever it's called. The most amazing salumi I've ever had. The salumi is also served with housemade foccacia which hands down was the BEST bread I have ever tasted in my life. For dessert, we shared a paw paw cream pie (I have never heard of the fruit but I was so about it) and a flight of amaros. My visit was an emotional rollercoaster of pleasure for my taste buds and I heavily recommend Cure, just be ready to throw down.
This was the best meal my husband and I have had, full stop. Creative, unusual, delicious.
Highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairings!
We had a delicious dinner...The flavors of our dishes were fantastic. Loved the creativity & presentation too. Energetic atmosphere is always fun...can’t wait to go back!
Though Cure is small and a little tight the food makes up for it tenfold. Creative, tasty and imaginative. The portions are just right and the service is excellent.
Everything from the food to the service was excellent!
Delicious food, great service, relaxed atmosphere. Loved it.
The service, food and atmosphere are outstanding. The staff is well informed about the menu and individual dishes. This is a special experience.
Cure offers the foodie options beyond the mainstream. Excellent local ingredients. Creative smoked beet salad!
Outstanding in every respect including our server Burt. We will definitely return when back in Pittsburgh. Can't wait to experience their sister restaurant Morcilla.
Cure was a very special experience! The service was stellar- attentive and friendly, somehow superior service that was down to earth at the same time... very rarely have this! The ambiance was great and conversation could be had, but I knocked 1 star off simply from a personal preference of not having animal heads on the wall. The food was amazing. All dishes were great! We got the salumi sampler, oysters (both beautifully served), little salad, beef tartar, the soup, trout, charcoutre, and the trout rilettes. We skipped dessert. Definitely a must try restaurant!
Our 3rd time at Cure and does not disappoint. The Brulee goat cheese is insane. Thanks for upping the food game in Pittsburgh. We will be back!
If you have never been to Cure and you are there for the smoked meats as seen on TV, ask for a plain language description of the meats. I wanted the smoked hams and ended up with a platter of duck and pate. The wild boar pasta dish was outstanding.
Did the tasting, was well worth it. Had a great experience and I would recommend it for sure.
The charcuterie is the highlight of this restaurant as the name implies. You can convert any person into a pork lover -- we can attest to that. The menu is thoughtful and not overbearing. Service was nice, and I like that they don't hover or interrupt often while you dine. I do wish our waitress had a bit more personality when it came to explaining the menu.
What a special place. The meat and cheese selection was absolutely on point and the staff was very informative and knowledgeable. I had their charcrote and it was truly delightful. Extremely tender and juicy. The soufflé cake was moist and the pistachio butter was very unique.
we enjoyed the 10-course tasting menu, but the chef's overuse of tarragon and anise made it difficult to eat several items.
the friendly staff and wine pairing made for a lovely evening.
Loved it! Would definitely return on future visits to Pittsburgh
Cure was awesome. Our server helped us decide on 3 courses and was very helpful. Our meals we flavorful and delicious. I had noted we were celebrating a birthday, and we served a piece of amazing lava cake as well!
This was our second time at this restaurant. We have had the tasting menu both times along with the wing pairing. The chef does an excellent job in varying the menu and the pairings work well with the courses. Certainly worth the drive if you have never been. It has limited seating so making a reservation well in advance is probably best if you plan to dine on a Friday or Saturday evening.
Cure is worth the drive from Philadelphia!
Great salumi plate big enough for dinner for two.
Excellent bread, lardo, just an incredibly fresh, homemade, cured meats and veggies.
Cure has been a favorite of mine since it opened. I have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is impeccable and the drinks are handcrafted and tasty.
Amazing experience--creative food, warm and inviting ambience, great service. Will definitely return.
Fabulous dinner at Cure - the food was outstanding, and the service very attentive without being overbearing. All in all it was a great evening.
The food here is so well executed, interesting, healthy, fresh tasting. A lot of thought and skill is involved in making dishes that are so balanced and unique. This restaurant is really impressive. The prices are reasonable given the quality. Service is relaxed but efficient. Music level is not too loud.
Had small salumi plate, bread and butter, beef tartare, NY strip steak, cacio e pepe, and chocolate cake with pistachio butter. Everything was extremely delicious with the exception of beef tartare. The tartare was also very delicious but sub par compared to my previous visits. It was substantially smaller in size, and considerably under-dressed. Unless that was an extremely purist take by Chef Severino, it did not live up to my expectations based on my previous experience.
All in all, The Cure is an amazing place with amazing food selections for fine dining. Very highly recommended.
Dining at Cure is a transformative experience, as with an experience of any great work of art. Decor recalls a boar hunting lodge with dark rustic wood and dusky patterned wall paper. "This Is Why You're Here" black strap ham on the menu is easily the best thing I've ever eaten, better than Iberico de Bellota and much more affordable. Deep savory cured complicated layers of flavor. Sensational. Another gem on the menu is their mushroom soup: porcini-based and poured over a frothy fried egg at the table, with marcona almonds and cocoa nibs. When making the reservation, I mentioned it was for my husband's birthday and without another mention, they put a very tasteful candle to the side of our dessert. Service was not only impeccable but staff was knowledgeable about wine, beer, and the menu. We were also able to purchase a link-to-go of one of the salumis as an unexpected treat.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner here. Chose the tasting menu and enjoyed the experience. I didn't even read what was ON the tasting menu, because I like being surprised, and have no dietary restrictions. The coddled egg was my favorite item, along with the oyster. Overall, the food was presented beautifully, are was accompanied by detailed explanations from the servers. We had a great time!
The food was divine! I woke up this morning thinking about it. We had the charcuterie plate and slowly enjoyed it. Each piece of meat should be savored!
I have yet to have a bad meal here, or poor service. The staff is super attentive without feeling contrived, arrogant or intrusive. The food? Very creative but still actual food. I had the roasted chicken with felafel, she the trout. Both were to die for, perfectly prepared. Worth the price.
Everything was fantastic. We had high expectations and they met everyone.
Place was nice...food was fine, but way over priced for what we recieved..I mentioned this to the staff and was told they hear that often
...was on bucket list. Been there done that won't again..actually had to go and get more food to satisfy my hunger and I am an average person
Cure has amazing cured meats and an eclectic menu. I'd definitely recommend it for date night.
The food was absolutely outstanding. The meats were fabulous. My wife and I split the steak and bolognese and each were fantastic. The service was by far one of the best waitstaff we have ever encountered. Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.
The food was amazing! We did the tasting menu & savored every bite. The only bit of 'room for improvement' is the dishes were cleared quickly, which paced the meal a bit more than we would've liked. Definitely a meal to be remembered & we'll be back
Though we only make it back to Pittsburgh a few times a year, we always hit Cure. The staff treats all guests like family, and are willing to make the extra effort to deliver a great dining experience. The food is produced locally, mostly from local ingredients. It's creative and exciting. Meticulously made cocktails. Salumi extravaganza and amaro menu!
