I started visiting Asheville 2 years ago, and Curate quickly became a favorite.
Last night's visit was a bit odd, though. The meal was very good overall. However, 2 things gave me pause. First, my dining companion ordered the brussels sprouts. The dish arrived with 1 brussel sprout, and perhaps another one cut up (there were other elements to the dish, so it was hard to tell). We thought it was a mistake! The server actually tried to "defend" the dish. At a restaurant of this caliber, why would she argue with us about brussels sprouts? Right or wrong (and we were right), offer to come out with a half dozen brussels sprouts. The other odd thing is that there were...shall I say..."sheets" of sediment at the bottom of my glass of red wine. I have drank my share of wine, and I have never seen this before. Again, the server defended the wine. This was not a little bit of granulated sediment. I still believe something was wrong. They did offer to bring me an additional "splash" of wine. I did not accept the offer; I wasn't angling for free wine...I sincerely question what that was at the bottom of my glass.
Will I return to Curate? In a heartbeat. But something was off last night.
Always a must on our annual trip to Asheville. Food Always outstanding, with exceptional service.
Curate' is our favorite restaurant. Tapas are great and filling, too. Always makes the day go by faster knowing that Curate is our dining destination.
One of our top 10 favorite restaurants. Incredible!
One of the mose creative and flavorful meals I've had (in Asheville or elsewhere.
I thoroughly enjoyed spending my birthday at Curate and look forward to spending future special occasions there.
Our favorite place! Always great!
When ordering, we let the waiter "make us happy" so we didn't have to make any decisions. We had a fabulous dinner!!
I love curate! If you are a foodie you must try! Katie Button is a great chef and all th ingredients are fresh and local. Something for everyone. Great tapas and a fun place to visit with friends! You won't be disappointed. Favorite restaurant in Asheville!
FP freakin phenomenal
This was a WONDERFUL meal. Tastes were off the charts good. Didn't overeat but felt incredibly satisfied with our selections. Must go to Curate!
Excellent food and drinks! We had the pitcher of sangria which was good. Three of us shared 6 plates. We particularly enjoyed the shrimp and skirt steak.
We had an amazing dinner for my 30th birthday! Very attentive, gracious waitress and didn't feel rushed. Above and beyond evening!
My husband and I took a road trip to Asheville and this was our first dinner there. Having traveled the world over, this was hands down the best tapas anyplace. Definitely requires a reservation. Very authentic Spanish tapas offerings.
This was my second time to curate. We were there for my wife's birthday. Her first time. It was delicious. Lardo and pork were perfect. Good wines and cocktails too. Service was excellent. We ended up going back the next night too. Squid ink pasta was off the charts. It's a must go to when visiting Asheville.
The food was fantastic but a little pricey for what you get. We had a party of six and most items were too small to even share between 3 people. Our lunch bill with only one drink each was $300.
Lovely as always! We may be getting close to having tried the full menu. The sugar shard dessert is a nice gratis touch, but perhaps Curate could mix it up a bit in terms of a different nice finish as a 'thank you' for spending a special occasion at Asheville's #1 restaurant.
You're still the queen of the Asheville dining scene!
Excellent dinner, exceptional service & guidance. It was a perfect meal except the lamb, which we would not order again, and being squashed against the wall at a tiny table in the back detracted from the experience. Overall, it was a leisurely, well-curated, delicious meal.
We love Curate and go every once in awhile. A bit pricy for a regular visit. But, we saw it had a restaurant week option, and decided to try it for that. Just amazing! A set menu, but such variety and large number of dishes. It was very special and even better than we hoped it would be.
Hands down the best restaurant in Asheville. You will not be disappointed.
Great place! We would go back here. The mushrooms were more delicious than any mushrooms I have ever had!
Delicious dishes, great service
Excellent experience - waiter was attentive and the food was exquisite. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to go for a special occasion!
One of our favorite restaurants in Asheville! The food is amazing and the wait staff is top notch.
Curate is one of Asheville's premier restaurants. We went during restaurant week and used the special menu designed for this occasion. That simplified things greatly as Curate has many interesting items on its full menu.
By far the most amazing place to eat. The small plates each perfectly crafted and unique. Creative, sometimes combining things I would never imagine into perfect for palate pleasers one topping the next.
My wife and I chose the Restaurant Week menu and we are so glad we did. Wonderful food options and plenty of it for a great price. This was a unique and excellent dining experience for us.
Curaté is always excellent, once you manage to get a reservation.
One of my top five meals ever! Impeccable service along with food that was innovative and delicious. We came back the following day for lunch. I would easily have paid twice as much for this experience. So simple with so much flavor. I ordered Chef Button's cookbook upon returning home. I cannot wait until we are in Asheville again. OFF THE CHARTS!!
Fabulous as always! Went to Curate for Restaurant Week and what a wonderful sampling of their menu it was. The price was so reasonable we thought it was a mistake. It was my foodie sister's first visit and she was wowed. Bruschetta was marvelous, mushrooms mouthwatering, a cod and potato puree I'd have never ordered on my own was great served with crisp bread. There were brussel sprouts I could've made a meal of, a spanish ham (Jamon) that was nice but not as flavorful as I'm used to and a squid done to perfection. A meat ravioli in bechamel sauce and manchego was as light as it was delicious. We ordered an extra which is my ALL TIME favorite - never leave Curate without trying the pork skirt steak, best pork you've ever put in your mouth! Don't get me started on the dessert. A heavenly night.
Great execution of traditional and inspired Spanish tapas. Unfortunately, the restaurant was overrun with loud groups of bachelorette parties.
Wonderful meal and service. Eric's service was excellent and he paced our meal so we didn't feel rushed. He recommended several dishes that were among our favorites. It was an enjoyable night especially having my brother here from Switzerland. The food is so high quality in ingredients and taste. This is one of my favorite Asheville restaurants.
Asheville has many great dinner options but Cúrate is not to be missed. Incredible food. Great service. I will be back!
Exceptional~ Highly recommend going with a group to enjoy the "spanish experience." I am a gluten free eater & our waiter expertly choreographed a menu that satisfied our adventurous pallets & suited my dietary needs. Incredible meal & atmosphere. Such a lovey toast to spanish cuisine & incredible ingredients!
Great dinner (13 courses) served by a great waiter, Brian.
We have been to Curate a number of times, and it never fails to be fantastic. My wife and I both love the butternut squash soup, and we always get patatas bravas. Among other items, we tried the pasta roll this time. Neither of us are chicken liver fans, but it was amazing. Curate is always a place that we highly recommend.
Great food and a very knowledgeable and attentive server. The small plate approach is a winner
The food was great. Our server was very helpful navigating us through one course after the next. The pork skirt steak was one of the best dishes I've ever had.
The food was excellent, we ordered too much! Some items were very good, one appetizer was only good. The wine was excellent. As I go there more I can pick out a combination of really satisfying tastes that I can find elsewhere!
We loved this place and are so happy we booked it. I cannot recommend the paella-ish dish enough! It was so delicious, but may not be for someone who doesn't enjoy seafood. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fried eggplant with local honey and rosemary. Sounds like a weird combo but works great! The restaurant was so lovely! We'll definitely be making our way back on our next visit to Asheville.
