I loved it. I met the chef and the food was excellent. I'll do it again, an again, and again, and again, etc.
Great meal with outstanding service
Great Service...like the theater menu choices... very creative menu. Will return again.
It was a lovely meal in a lovely place. The help was very good and the service was excellent. We got there early because we had a show and we wanted to make sure we got waited on. The food was delicious.
Was going to the fisher school of rock show picked this place for dinner. The service was good and the meal was outstanding. Would differently recommend it to anyone that asks for a good place to dine in Detroit. They could use a little more selection of vodka like cherry...
Another excellent meal, everything was outstanding!
Great spot for pre Fisher Theater event dining. Service is always great. My husband and I order the halibut from the main menu. It was excellent. Drink pours and very good. The team knows if the diners are going on to the theater and make sure everyone is on their way in time for the curtain to go up. The location is perfect for the Theater--just across the street. This is our go to spot for dining prior to the theater.
Pre-theater treat. We had the bisque, oysters and tenderloin. Really good food and friendly and efficient service
Located across the street from the Fisher Theater, which has probably become the backbone of the business and probably accounts for the restaurant's inattention to other matters.
The Thai Shrimp was perfectly prepared, with interesting combination of spices. The Roasted Cauliflower with red grapes, pepitas, and capers was a fun winner. The Norwegian Halibut with kale and carrots had been left on the stove one minute too long. It was dry.
Other unforced errors make this a do-not-return site. There is absolutely no reason to give someone a table at the front window which looks at a 5+ story parking ramp and a semi truck loading dock, complete, in my case, with engines running all through the dinner. Put the diners inside, away from the visual wasteland and the street noise. The jazz played at the beginning of the dinner was delightful -- melodic, accessible, hummable. The ambiance was totally destroyed when the bartender in the adjoining room (no wall, no sound barrier) put the TV on to a loud game show. I cleaned my plate and left as quickly as possible. If the game show had been on when I arrived, I would have refused the table.
The best and only place to enjoy a great meal within walking distance of the Fisher.
From start to finish this was an excellent meal. The lobster bisque was smooth with large prices of lobster and crab. The Dover sole was done perfectly with capers adding a subtly brine and salt. The beef Wellington was tender and flavorful. Both detests were amazing. A must do for theater goers!
Amazing as usual. Outstanding food and service.
First time there . . . with a group of eight . . . . everything well-prepared and beautiful! Each dish a little different and delicious! Service attentive, lovely atmosphere! Location perfect for pre/post Fisher Theater dining! Will definitely be on our list of "must return to's"1
Incredibly good option if you are seeing a show at the Fisher Theater. Can park your car for the show and walk across the street to the restaurant. We chose items off the special Theater Menu and they were all very good. Only downside was our table for two was tucked in the bar area right above a heat register. Little cramped and warm, but would definitely return, especially if going to a show.
Cuisine was great. However Open Table was the worst. After getting a CONFIRMED reservation from OT, we showed up at Cuisine only to find out that they had cancelled their subscription with OT and we had no real reservations. We had just made our reservation that day. As well asat least five parties after us. Cuisine was dumbfounded. But I must say Cuisine did everything they could to accommodate us despite the fact the they had been 100% booked for over a week and this put them in quite a predicament. OpenTable could have ruined many people's nights who were about to go to the play immediately afterward, and did not have time to find other restaurant availability. Yikes.
Excellent service and the food was very good.
Overpriced for what you get. Pretends to be five star and upscale but it’s not.
We went here prior to seeing a play at he fisher theater for my wife's birthday. Very good food and service. we had to request bread to the table. Bill was about $100 for two glasses of wine, and two entrees, with one dessert. my wife really liked it so that all that matters.
My wife and I were very pleased. Food was excellent. We will be back next time we're in Detroit.
We loved Josh our waiter. The menu was fabulous (Detroit restaurant week special). Wonderful meal!
Went to restaurant week- had scallops, my husband ordered duck of the main menu
Excellent food and service
Would go back
We have wanted to try this restaurant for quite a while because of its proximity to the Fisher Theatre. We chose to give it a try because of their participation in Detroit Restaurant Week. We were not disappointed. The food is delicious and the service was very attentive. We would definitely choose to return.
Wednesday night with nothing at the Fisher so, the room was a little slow. Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable of the menu and genuinely friendly took the overall experience over the top for us. Everything from appetizer to dessert was excellent, we will very likely return.
Went during Detroit Restaurant week to try out the restaurant. Very nice. We plan to go back and try the regular menu which had very interesting items on it.
Super! I had the scallops and my husband had the duck trio. We loved everything we ordered. Walking distance to the Fisher Theater afterwards for the show. Our waiter accidentally charged us for a bottle of wine we didn't order which took a little while to fix so be sure to review your bill!
Our usual pre-theatre stop for creative culinary delights. Chef Paul and Sarah make this a wonderful dinner spot. (Don't miss the soufflés if available !)
This was my third time eating there. I was disappointed in the whole evening. They were out of the liquor I drink. I have absolutely nothing good to say about of meal that evening, it was awful. Ordered items on the menu, only to have the waiter come back to the table to inform us that they are out of them. In the past, I have enjoyed the food there. after this last visit I do not think we will ever go back.
This is our second visit to the Cuisine for dinner before going to the Fisher Theater. I recommend making reservations at 6:00 pm for a 8:00 pm show as that allows you the opportunity to dine slowly and get out in time for the show. The night we were there, the place emptied out quickly for the show and, while we were the last to leave, we were on time for the show.
The food is always wonderful and the service is courteous and quick. Great wine list and the bar has the best liquors available.
I recommend this location!
It was awful. We had reservations at 545. Still no food at 715. They were understaffed and over booked! We asked to speak to manger, ( which who even knows if we got the manger) because she was a server. Very rude and not apologentic. Unprofessional, she kept telling us out food was coming it was now 730 and we disnt even have time to eat.! So we left with out dinner. Don't go!
Dinner before attending a musical at the Fisher Theater. The meal was perfectly prepared, the service excellent and in and out in little over an hour.. I look forward to returning again.
Terrible experience. We didn't order the theatre pre fixe menu, and the waiter didn't seem to know how to handle. We came before our show at the theatre almost 2 hours before showtime, and were still almost late. Would not recommend, or go back.
Convenient for our theater tickets. Good parking, both on the street and in the parking lot next door
Cuisine is a favorite spot for great food in a QUIET setting. So many great restaurants are too noisy to visit with friends and family, and Cuisine does a great job of providing really good food, in a great setting. Love the cocktails, the wine list, the various small plates and appetizers they offer. It's got just a bit of country french flair with their charcuterie, frisee salad, and duck offerings without being the least bit stuffy or overly french.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. A true gem.
Great food and service as well as excellent wine selection!
Our server Kahlil was fantastic! I noticed some reviews found the restaurant "outdated"... the ceiling may have looked a little old, but I found it gave the place character and the lighting, tables and rest of the decor was modern, yet warm and inviting. The food was creative and tasty for the most part. We were there on NYE so I understand there was a limited menu, and there were a lot of courses, but it would have been nice to have a choice for every course, or at least a majority of them, not just 2 of them. Also would have been nice to have a choice on how I wanted my beef cooked...it was so rare many of us could only eat the outer edges of it, which I found disappointing. A cocktail menu would also have been a nice touch.
Great Midtown option for lovely dinner! Wonderful ambiance in a historic home. Good for graduation dinners
The restaurant is in a beautiful old mansion ina great location for those attending a show at the Fisher. Our waiter was not that well schooled and so the service was not to expectation. We both very much enjoyed the meal but thought the accompaniments were lean for the main element of our scallops dish.
Cuisine always delivers - good service, good food. Their Prix Fixe menus are excellent. Try the brown sugar bourbon ice cream for dessert!
Service was exceptional. Very attentive. Everything on the menu was house made and truly delicious. We enjoyed numerous appetizers and entrees and nothing disappointed.
