Our Ghanaian founders, William & Francesca Quagraine, grew up surrounded by the aromatic kitchens of West Africa, where food was not just sustenance but a rich culinary of traditions passed down through generations and cultures intertwined. After moving from Ghana to the UK and experiencing the profound feeling of homesickness, they realized there was something missing. The Quagraines envisioned a place where people could experience the true essence of Ghanaian cuisine and form a community representing a home away from home. This vision led to the creation of The Gold Coast, a restaurant that embodies the spirit and flavors of their homeland. Throughout their journey, many non-Ghanaians supported The Quagraines and patronized their brand and have shared special parts of their culture which is why Gold Coast does not cater specifically to Ghanaians but for the whole of Africa.
