As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. NAT, our executive chef who has a passion for cooking with his Le Cordon Bleu studied from patisserie to cuisine and many years of experience in the Australian fine-dining restaurant such as Sailor Thai. More importantly, he always spent time in the top hat restaurant not only in Australian but also around the world. He was into in various cuisines and started learning by himself. He is the very talented self-learner as he had learnt about cuisine and accepted from people who had tried his delightful dishes.

    Great restaurant in spice alley. Lovely setting and excellent food. We enjoyed the crab summer rolls, calamari, spicy chicken and bbq ribs with roti. All dishes were excellent with great flavor. Nice wine selection with daily happy hour. I’ve eaten at this restaurant twice while visiting Sydney and will keep it on my list of places to frequent. A great value for the money as well!

    The food and service were good. However, the tables were being set too closed together. It would be ok for quick bite or quick lunch.

    Delicious! One plate Wonders are excellent value for money; came out quick and hot but still tasting of wonderful restaurant quality. Crispy pork stayed crispy, jasmine rice fluffy and generous, perfect for sauce. Fun selection of drinks too, we hope to come back soon and work our way through the options
