Best Spanish Restaurants in Castle Douglas

Meal was incredible and worth every penny! Atmosphere was lovely and service was great too!

Had a lovely meal at Rioja and will definitely be back. The pre theatre menu is very well priced and the house red was delicious. We never got one of our dishes which was a blessing in the end as we over ordered, 5 dishes between 2 people was plenty as portions are decent. Food was delicious, possibly could have been slightly hotter. The setting is nice though to be aware the music got quite loud as we sat there, so not a quiet place to sit, though we enjoyed it.

My fourth visit here, on the occasion of my daughter’s birthday. As with the previous 3 times, both the food and service was impeccable. The corn on the cob and croquettes starters were delicious and the sourdough bread is just perfection. For the mains, two fillet steaks were cooked perfectly to order, and the pork fillet was absolutely superb and would be my recommendation to anyone who is a meat eater. Desserts (if you have room!) are also delicious- churros with a lovely strong chocolate sauce are great. Crema Catalana was equally good. And glasses of complimentary bubbly for the birthday girl were greatly appreciated. Service from everyone, especially our waitress, was just perfect. It is really nice to go somewhere nowadays where you are treated well and where you can relax and enjoy quality food in pleasant surroundings. The Spanish Butcher is that place and I highly recommend it.

Staff and food excellent and they dealt with a difficult situation with another customer really well. Appreciate their efforts to ensure we had an enjoyable experience.
