Balboa is one of our favorite establishments in Houston ... quality is consistent, always excelent, service is extraordinary, we love this place

First visit to Hudson House. Went with a friend. I had the Maple plank salmon but substituted the skinny fries for the broccoli since I avoid lemon, parmesan cheese and broccoli. Cooked medium with a soy glaze. It was excellent. I took half of the salmon home for dinner. My friend ordered the pan seared redfish and though it says lightly blackened she thought the outside was a bit hard but the flavor was good. The place filled up after we arrived so the noise level went up but wasn't too loud.

Service was great, Rich took great care of us as we celebrated 39th wedding anniversary; food was very good and met expectations - the crab cake, bone-in strip, and filet were all delicious; lemon drop martini and Maestro margarita were some of the best we’ve had - liked that they leave the shaker and you actually get a second one! The indoor/outdoor seating was perfect as we had a great view of the fountain. We will definitely return for our next special occasion.

Lovely birthday celebration with gracious service. Trey our server had impeccable table side presence and manners. We started out with this massive tropical cocktail which was tangy goodness. My guy loved his filet mignon steak (cooked perfectly medium rare) and shrimp cocktail. My wedge salad was huge portion and the grilled shrimp paired well with the salad. The bangers potato side were spicy and complimented the steak well. The team at Guard and Grace kindly treated my guy to a toffee cake and and triple chocolate chip cookies to celebrate his birthday and the cookies were decadent. Highly recommend Trey and his team to celebrate milestones.

Started with entree of Spanish octopus for appetizer, split a crab Louie salad, then shrimp cocktail, redfish with garlic herb butter, roasted cauliflower and finished with Basque cake All were amazing!!!! Kudos to Gabby, a fantastic server and very knowledgeable!!!
