Wow, what a beautiful meal we had, I opted for the 3 course ( you have to purchase a roast to take advance) £27 for a 3 course meal. What a great deal. The food was amazing. Starter I had potted cromer crab with asparagus ice cream ( what a great flavour) with soda bread and crispy batter saphire.Then the lamb roast. Wow, the flavours. And lemon meringue cheese cake for dessert. My other half had the onglet steak. Fantastic. Great food, lovely atmosphere. Highly underrated and wasn't busy at all. Get there, support them, and enjoy. I've been to 1 or 2 nice restaurant establishments over the last couple of years. Some pretty pricey for what you get and the food in other places from today's standards at The Chequers have been very mediocre. Many thanks to the talented chef

Top Quality Carvery Having just purchased a groupon deal for two we decided to give the pub a go. Very friendly staff and the carvery was fantastic value two meats, numerous veggies inc honey glazed carrots and fab red cabbage plus homemade yorkshire puds we were quite full but still had to have a dessert as part of the deal - Jam Sponge and Custard plus Apple and Blackberry Crumble also with custard. Fantastic value for money and cant wait to go back again.
