The Friary is situated just on the edge of Derby's lively city center. This bright, vibrant and fast paced venue is the place to be for students and revellers alike. The structure is traditional but the Decor is very, very modern. Purple walls with orange borders and the Submarine grey fire place in the games room with astro-turf may give you a heavy indication that at this venues core, it's a Sports Bar but you'd be wrong. The Menu matches the ambiance of the Friary perfectly, everything you'll need for a visit here.     Flawless. Amazing amazing Roast dinner and desserts. Having been on a midweek which was great, can now confirm that this place can do everything to an extremely high standard. A true pearl of the region.

    Very popular destination - car park was full @ midday - beware as a Cricket club is immediately behind pub !! 😩 not saying i saw anything but word to the wise and don't park near the hedge 😉 Food was good 👍 shame no Beef available for Sunday Lunch 😕 Gravy needs some work - can disguise any plate !! It seems it's a popular stop off for the local cycling community - so get there early if you're planning to sit outside.

    Overall a lovely evening. Staff were attentive and keen to please, couldn't be more helpful, with any minor issues speedily dealt with. Food was lovely and high quality. I'm glad we went for the three starter plate deal as the portion sizes of the main course weren't large, but I'd prefer quality over quantity any day, and the flavour range was excellent. Great pub standard dishes on offer with additional chef dishes on the new menu. Being a Tuesday night booking, the place wasn't packed and we could converse easily. Volume levels on the sound system went up significantly when the football came on the television, which wasn't really unexpected for a place with live sports I guess. Would I go again? Yes, absolutely. Looking forward to trying the carvery on one of the nights it's available.
