Best Middle Eastern Restaurants in Altona North

We had a fabulous dinner at Yakamoz and everything we ate was excellent. The ambience with the wood fired oven is lovely. We ate enzyme, pita bread warm from the oven, chicken and lamb shush, eggplant, octopus and horiatiki salad. It was all excellent. Highly recommended.

My second visit to Fides. The food is amazing. The background music was great, pretty some of the music was Greek…. Service on this occasion was a real let down. Not once did a wait staff come to our table throughout the evening without us calling to them. It wasn’t busy so a little disappointed. Overall we had a lovely dinner. Cocktails were amazing.

The food was excellent. The chicken and lamb and the Fattoush salad were all absolutely delicious. They were able to cater for dietaries well. We sat at the hightop tables, but the staff left the door open all night so it was very cold. They also left an unsually big break between entrees and mains, and then rushed us at the end because of their next sitting. They could have managed that a little less abruptly. My only other comment too is that there is no toilet in the restaurant, and you have to exit the building and go through a loading bay to use the facilities, which takes away from the experience a little. Otherwise very good.

Beautiful food, fun and attentive staff … great value for money.

First visit to this busy and popular restaurant. Despite having booked felt slightly overlooked while the owners greeted friends and regulars. We were offered a choice of tables without it being explained that one area was extremely noisy due to families with young children. We felt sorry for the staff having to deal with the mess created by unsupervised children. The food was excellent and service during the meal very professional, which is why we shall probably go again. We over ordered, portions were very generous, but takeaway boxes were provided. Based on this experience, I would say this is a restaurant for a meal with groups of friends or family, rather than a romantic dinner for two.
