- JJamesVIPTampa / Central Florida West •6 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoCozy place for intimate date night dining. Started with grilled octopus and fried calamari. The marinara sauce was perfect for the calamari and the octopus had a wonderful char and was tender with the complimentary arugula, roasted red peppers and lemon. We normally choose a bottle of Pietro’s Amarone wine from Peter’s own vineyard in the Island of Ichia, but that night we went with the house Chianti Classico by the glass two rounds which was excellent, and just enough for two. My wife had the Bronzino which is her favorite and for her to think it is fine no where better when her own Bronzino is to die for is an extreme compliment to the Maestro Peter, owner and chef. Susan, Peter’s wife is a gracious host keeping things under control while performing feats of puzzlery moving tables to accommodate vied for reservations in what should be a Michellin Star restaurant, now admittedly the best Italian restaurant in all the Sarasota / Bradenton area, being his twilight years crowning gemstone, Peter’s fifth restaurant creation in Sarasota with three of the others still in existence and still crowd pleasers. I had the Mama Lucia veal which is alternating thin slices of veal, eggplant and mozzarella with Marsella sautéed mushrooms and a side of Rottelli pasta with that incredible red sauce again. Mama Lucia is their signature dish. Now, dessert is a hard choice with so many great options but we narrowed it down to the Spumoni and the Lemon cake with Oranchini aperitifs. No good Italian meal from the Bay of Naples area like Ichia can finish without a great Spumoni experience, and let me tell you, Peter does not disappoint.More infoPietro's Italian RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Italian• Sarasota•4.9

We just went to Greece and everything was on par. Moussaka, souvlaki hummus and beets and Greek salad were delicious.More infoBlu KouzinaPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Sarasota•4.8
