- WWendyVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoThe food is a wonderful combination of both classic El Salvadoran dishes as well as contemporary spins . The server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food is the best I have had in a long time. I can’t wait to go back, probably next week. I can’t imagine anyone not loving Popoca. A truly inspirational and elevating, dining experience, bravo!More infoPopocaPrice: Moderate• Latin American• Oakland•4.8

- JJeremiahVIPSan Antonio •7 reviews4.0Dined 5 days agoModerately attentive wait staff and overall decent food, albeit slightly overpriced. Visited with my son at 5:15PM. We arrived about 30 minutes before the rush. We were greeted right away by a polite young lady. She began to seat us, but then another couple arrived and she left us to seat them—it was an odd exchange that left us awkwardly standing outside, selecting our own table. We had the FRITURA SALCHICHON LONGANIZA appetizer, which was brought out very quickly and was very good. My son had the CAMARONES CRIOLLA, which he described as “meh” when asked. I tried them, and they were well cooked, but generally poorly seasoned. I had the BRAISED ANGUS OXTAIL “ENCENDIDO”, which was very good, although for a “large” entree, I was a bit let down, as it was rather modest. Nonetheless, the flavor packed a punch. My son had guava-infused limeade which was legit. I had unsweetened tea. Overall, worth the visit but not something I would personally go out of my way to have again.More infoalaMar Dominican KitchenPrice: Expensive• Caribbean• Oakland•4.6
- RReginaSan Francisco Bay Area •17 reviews5.0Dined on May 7, 2025I met a friend for lunch there. It was great. I was able to make a reservation. I'm not working right now, but my friend does work. I wanted a place where we'd not be stuck in a line to get food. We could sit, eat, and catch up. Bocanova provided that. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was great. It was well seasoned and didn't have too much salt. We shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and I got one of the lunch specials. It was an ahi tuna schnitzel, and was very good. My friend got some smaller dishes. I'm not exactly sure which ones, but she seemed to enjoy the food as much as I did. It's a great spot for a casual lunch in a great location. I'm glad that I chose it!More infoBocanovaPrice: Moderate• Latin American• Oakland•4.5
