A refined, immersive dining experience in the heart of Wedgewood Houston, Momotaro Nashville showcases exceptional sushi, robata-grilled dishes, and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Chef Partner Gene Kato brings his Japanese heritage into a modern context delivering bold, nuanced flavors that honor tradition from a modern viewpoint.Originally opened in Chicago over a decade ago, Momotaro’s design is rooted in Japanese mid-century modernism and “salaryman” culture, expressed through rich wood paneling, detailed millwork, and a signature stock exchange-style menu board anchoring the space. In Nashville, that foundation evolves through a lens of Japanese Americana—a cultural movement that reinterprets classic American style through a distinctly Japanese perspective. Throughout the space, the concept of otaku—an obsessive devotion to craft—comes to life in the rhythmic repetition of tile and wood, creating both visual texture and a sense of intentional separation between spaces.
