Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 9 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and traditional local Tuscan food. Our mission is to bring people together for an amazing Italian experience with good food, wine and good times and share with you my strong passion and our local traditional cuisine as if you were in Tuscany.

    Was a bit sad that the wait staff misunderstood our order; we ended up with tiramisu instead of creme caramel (we thought they'd given us a free extra dessert because of a birthday and didn't realise that wasn't the case until it was nearly time to leave) and was also given another peach Bellini instead of the Rosita we ordered. But the food was good!

    This restaurant is a wonderful addition to Gosford CBD !We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the buzz and the service. Recommend the Spaghetti Vongoli….delicious, even the salad was a treat with good quality olives and artichoke hearts, authentic flavours of Italy. 🇮🇹 5 stars

    Agnolotti pumpkin pasta was absolutely delicious! We ordered two servings and so thankful that we did . Cotoletta Bolognese is another standout dish that I always order when I come to the Neptune Grotto. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful and attentive service provided by the team. Great selection of wine and what a great place for a dinner with friends. Highly recommend it to anyone!
