Das »Pförtnerhaus« im Straßenbahnring, Ecke Falkenried, im Hamburger Stadtteil Eppendorf erinnert noch an die Zeit, als in der Hauptwerkstatt Falkenried (1894 bis 1978) elektrische Straßenbahnen gebaut wurden. Im inzwischen denkmalgeschützten Gebäude verbindet sich das Zeugnis vom industriellen Fortschritt mit städtebaulicher Nostalgie. Im Jahr 2004 wurde das ehemalige Pförtnerhaus für die Marsbar-Gastronomie um- und ausgebaut. Angefangen als »Caffeteria e Paninoteca«, entwickelte sich das Angebot hinter der historischen Rotklinker-Fassade bis heute zur »Weinbar und Restaurant«.Die Marsbar verfügt über 75 Innenplätze und weitere 80 Außenplätze auf der Terrasse. Die Plätze direkt an der Bar erlauben einen Blick in die offene Küche. Der Restaurantbereich bietet mit verglaster Fensterfront, kleinen Tischen und einer langen Ledersitzbank Platz für entspanntes Speisen in unkonventioneller Atmosphäre. Im Eingangsbereich kann man auf Barhockern an Hochtischen am Fenster sitzen.

Aus Lüneburg kommend war ich das zweite Mal mit meiner Mutter hier. Bei schönstem Wetter haben wir unser sehr leckeres Mittagessen auf der Terrasse genießen dürfen.Der Service, wie auch beim ersten Besuch, exelent, das Essen absolut hervorragend!!!Wir kommen sicher bald wieder!!!

Excellentes Essen, Getränke eher schwach, Sommelière in meinen Augen nicht gut. Bedienung gut aber nicht perfekt. Keine zwei Sterne, außer für das Essen.
