We have been looking for a good Indian Restaurant in the local area ever since trying Indian cuisine with friends in a different state. We finally found one!! The food and service were outstanding!! We will be regulars here!

My husband and I are in Virginia Beach for our wedding anniversary. We wanted to try something different for our anniversary dinner. We found Rangsa, an Indian seafood restaurant right on the boardwalk. We had reservations for 7:30. We were going to sit outside, but it turned cold, so the staff immediately seated us at a small table indoors at the front window. My husband and I decided to order several small plates to sample a variety of dishes. We had the crab, the garlic chili fish, grilled calamari, and roti. The service was very attentive and our food came out quickly! All was delicious. Nothing was too spicy or overwhelming. I was particularly impressed with the calamari which was not breaded but grilled and savory, maintaining its delicate texture and flavor. My husband loved the crab, which was chopped and sautéed with veggies and red sauce. And we both loved the fish. I was worried it might be too intense for me (I don’t care much for spicy food) but it was the perfect combination of flavor and seasoning. My husband had a Kingfisher beer, I had a glass of Pinot. Very nice with the meal. For dessert the server recommended mango culfi. Rich and creamy and fruity and perfect. I would go back just for that! The staff anticipated our needs - even moving a table over to help accommodate all the dishes we ordered. They discreetly kept an eye on us to make sure we were enjoying the meal. They took great care of us. It was our anniversary so we dressed up a little, a casual-business attire. But a lot of people just wore casual beach wear for a cool night. I would also recommend you tip in cash. They take credit cards but a cash tip seemed preferred and that was just fine with us. Rangsa is a gem. A real treat!
