Drinks: Aam: I thought it didn’t hit the Aam panna taste, but my husband happily loved it. Haldi: I had this gorgeous drink on the bartenders recommendation. It was so nostalgic, so well executed. Til: Reminded me of Tilgul at Makar sankrant, beautiful take on Old fashioned. I’ve come up with a jaggery old fashioned. And this sesame-washed version is it. Kokum(NA): Tastes exactly like Kokum Sarbat. All the drinks were very well balanced and well mixed, so cohesive. Small plates: Benne Dosa: The bartender said I know you’ve had it, it’s common, but try it. Wow. If you’ve had the best Malleshwaram Dosa at Carnatic Cafe in India, this is that and even better. Wow. Chutneys omg. Mushroom Galoti: 100/10. 🤌🏼 Not only does this taste like the best Galoti Kebabs you can find in Delhi, it’s vegetarian! My mind is totally blown. I was in shock, but a happy gastronomic shock. Prawn Balchao: 10/10 taste. The head part of the prawn was so yummy and buttery I have never had anything like this. Ribs: the meat was tender and juicy. I think the tamarind flavor can be toned down a little bit or have less sauce in the ribs. It was great it wasn’t mind blowing. Great execution on all the small plates! Mains: Dal Bhat: no notes. Parotta: no notes. Tomato Pappu: Loved it, husband thought it was a bit too tangy because of the cherry tomatoes. But I believe that is the essence of pappu. I’ve never had a aunthentic pappu, only the average daals so I thought it was great with the yellow tomatoes. The red ones were a bit tooo tangy. Still would give 10/10. Mudhi Mansha: 3/5 I loved seeing the Oriya representation but I don’t imagine a lot of people loving this prep. Dessert: Casatta and Payasam Flan with Rose cookie: Great execution!

The food is very inventive. The food has plenty of heat. We enjoyed the beet salad and the quesadillas the most. The Cornish chicken was fair. We had some cooling non-alcoholic drinks. Everyone who worked there was extremely helpful and nice.

We did the 7 course table menu with one wine/cocktail pairing. Food Loved every single course! The Gucci Musallam Faraa is one of the best dishes I've had in the last few years. The spice and heat level was perfect, the morels were earthy and amazing, and the rice gnocchi/dumplings rounded it out. The black cod with Moilee Sabayon was another standout as again the spice/heat level was perfect and the cod was melt in your mouth good. The Duck Numidian was a perfect way to end as it was a fatty cumin/fenugreek/coriander bomb in all the right ways. The Halo Halo was a fantastic dessert as it hit all of the flavor notes of sweet and savory, creamy and fruity. All of the other dishes were great as well and it says something that the NY Strip, which was excellent, was my least favorite dish. Wine/Cocktail The wines/cocktails on their own would have deserved a 5/5, especially The Finale (scotch, noyaux, chamomile, seville orange, vanilla) and R.López de Heredia Gravonia, 2016. But they paired perfectly with each course, with the cocktail pairings being even better than the wines, granted the steak with the Vignerons Les Matheny Arbois Rouge Trousseau, 2021 was outstanding. This could be the best pairing I've ever had. Truly. Service Phenomenal as all of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, with special shout out to the sommelier and executive chef. Overall, I would say the tasting menu at this price point is one of the best in the city, and paired with the wine/cocktail just made it even better. I will be going here again, and again, and again.
