Lovely country pub. Good food, friendly staff, nice ambience

Dinner in the restaurant at the Parakeet is fantastic. No dish is ordinary. The whole experience is then lifted another level because the staff are so lovely. It’s not cheap, as the fun is in ordering lots of different plates (tapas style for sharing) and this can add up £££ but ultimately it’s worth it. I wish I could go all the time but tend to save it for a special occasion.

We had lamb curry x 3 & one had egg and chips - all excellent

Really lovely food. I had a fish curry - was gorgeous. My mother had a steak that she loved too. We then had the cheese to share. Lovely cheese but I don’t understand why some restaurants serve cold cheese. Luckily it was a warm day and we let it ‘warm up’ before we ate it. But shame us Brits still get the room temperature for cheese wrong.

Had our second visit to the white horse and it was excellent. Lovely pub with a fantastic outdoor area, great quality food and very good service. Will definitely be back
