We had a delightful birthday lunch with old friends. The food was delicious, with a good variety of choices, and we were allowed to linger and catch up with our friends without ever feeling that we were being hurried along to depart. Friendly, lovely staff, good service, and excellent value for money. We just wish we lived nearer, as we’d love to return.

Enjoyed a delicious roast lamb sunday lunch. Will definitely return.

Everything high quality and good value for money, with one exception. Just one thing to improve, which may not be easy, and that is accessibility. Step-free access to a toilet is a must-have, no discussion; otherwise management is discrimminating against those, like my wife, who have mobility difficulties. I understand the challenges involved in providing modern facilities in older buildings, but ways must be found and top quality establishments have a civic repsonsibility to lead the way.

Fantastic place to eat, beautiful decor, really nice beer garden, lovely staff very helpful, they want you to have a good experience. The menu was varied, you get quality on a plate. The steak was perfectly cooked. We went there for my brothers 60th and they gave me a recommendation for a cake maker and they decorated the table for us. Jon and his staff went over and above. We would definitely recommend The Royal Oak if you are staying in the area.
