Best Gastro Pubs in Stow-on-the-Wold

Popped into Ye Olde Horseshoes for a Sunday roast and was thoroughly impressed. The beef roast was excellent – perfectly pink in the middle, tender, and full of flavour. The roast potatoes were just how I like them: golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. The vegetable medley was fresh and well-cooked, and the gravy tied everything together beautifully. The Yorkshire puddings deserve a special mention – huge, fluffy, and delicious. We were seated in a cosy room that stayed cool despite the heat outside, which I found very comfortable, although my dad thought it was a bit chilly. Prices were reasonable for the quality: £21.50 for the roast, with pints around £5–£6, and a 10% service charge added – fair for the great service we received. Overall, a lovely pub lunch with great food and atmosphere. Would definitely return!

Delicious food and great presentation in this lovely, friendly pub. The risotto was amazing, good sized quality cheese burgers, and a good choice of puddings.

Excellent service, exceptional food beautifully presented in a stunning setting. Superb choice on menu with everything fresh and seasonal. Very much recommend.
