Visited on a weekday lunchtime for my husband’s birthday. Delicious food and wine and good service. We did an 8k circular walk from the pub after lunch which was beautiful with stunning scenery. Back to the pub for drinks on the terrace outside, perfect!

This is a lovely place and the food was home cooked and delicious. I visited on ‘Pie Night’ and opted for steak & ale with triple cooked chips, peas and gravy. It was absolutely delicious and the best pie I’ve had in years. I’d booked to stayed the night there and the room was newly renovated, clean, fresh and comfortable. The shower was fab. Breakfast (full English) was delicious and again all freshly cooked. Top marks to the chef! A warm welcome and lovely staff too so I would definitely recommend.

We visited for our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. My husband had the fish & chips whilst I had filet steak - everything was delicious and cooked to absolute perfection!!! Excellent quality of ingredients. The service was fantastic, we will definitely be back - massive thank you to a fantastic team.

Lovely meal at the Stable door. John looked after us superbly! We had various starters which were delicious (scallops & sharing board) The mains were super tasty too! (Fillet steak & steak pies) We are looking forward to re visiting!!
