A delightful and delicious dining experience. It’s so nice to find a dining establishment in Ottawa that is completely gluten-free! We were a party of three and as a Celiac I find going out for diner a challenge because of the limited menu items choices and risk of cross contamination. This was not an issue at VIV. The food and drink menus offered so many interesting choices. Our server was friendly, cheerfully attentive, knowledgeable, and successfully conveyed her passion for fine dining and spirits. We enjoyed the beautifully presented and delicious chef’s special and the duck confit. Excellent value and perfect portions. The decor and ambience enhanced our dining experience. We’ll definitely return and recommend.

What a great event, with food that was paired expertly with wine, accompanied with top notch service. A great gem in the city with little pretentiousness.

Absinthe never fails to provide outstanding food. The chef's skill and his devotion to his craft are apparent in each plate. Whether it is the steak frit or the salad nicoise, the food is always superb. Absinthe is far from a new restaurant. It has aged like a fine wine. Kudos to the Chef, the kitchen staff and the servers who set an example of what fine dining should be.
