Best French Restaurants in Elizabeth

Very odd menu in French with little to no explanation written. Hostess was very sweet and the service was excellent.. Food seemed more Deutsch than French. No atmosphere.

Our server on a busy Monday Holiday was efficient, attentive, and personable. Some in our party have been going to the Odeon since the early 00s and remarked the quality has remained steadfast. Every staff person we interacted with was confident in their role and a great communicator, which allows you to relax and have confidence that you’re in good hands. Will be back again and again.

We had an EXCELLENT dinner here. Service was 10/10 and the food was insane. We booked them for our 10/2025 rehearsal dinner and we’re so glad we did.

From the plus-perfect martinis to the unforgettable steak tartare to the ethereal dover sole Stephan Bocket's Chez Catherine remains the quintessential French dining venue in this area. Love that this place offers happy hour specials 7days a week. Caveat is you must sit at the bar for the happy hour menu. Food is always impeccable. I especially love their Moulé Mondays (Moulé frites specials at $35 with a dessert - super great value!) and Steak Frites Tuesday special. Have been a loyal customer at their old location & now enjoying their new spot on Marin Blvd. Staff are all friendly and attentive. The tapas menu during happy hour are definitely small plates but were prepared very well. I did wish we had more crostinis for our tuna tartare, salmon rillettes, & cheese plate.
