Best French Japanese Restaurants in Yonge and St. Clair

Thank you to the staff of Bar Alo for making our dinner last night so special! We were celebrating our son’s 30th birthday and we were wowed! We chose the tasting menu with a few add ons. The food was beautiful in presentation and taste! The layers, the complexity of each course was amazing. We had such a wonderful experience. Definitely on the pricey spectrum and if you have an appetite order some additional items to the tasting menu. I would definitely recommend for a very special occasion!

Another extraordinary meal at Maison T! The bistro is beautiful outside (the flower filled, covered patio}, and inside - cosy, gorgeous, welcoming, art-filled, with tables well-spaced, and a pretty bar. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfect - it was very busy when we were there, filled with guests enjoying the food and conversations, yet the service flowed impeccably. Carolina, partnered with Chef, has a welcoming, lovely touch that keeps the 'front of house' warmly bubbling and happy. And the food, oh my! The Chef, Masayuke Tamaru, makes sublime food! We each had a starter and an entree, and tasted each other's, so I had the pleasure of tasting nine of Chef's amazing, AMAZING, creations. Oh, and three yummy desserts. These included a perfect Arctic Char, a delicious Wagyu beef, Maitake mushroom tempura that was magical, mouthwatering tuna sashimi, and wonderful Japanese chicken katsu. Somehow, we made room in our very satisfied tummies for dessert, a silky creme caramel, a strawberry profiterole, and and fabulous blancmange (I could eat this forever). Great coffee too. The wine - my guests are both very into wine, having grown vines for many years. The wines suggested by Carolina were so, so good. And perfect for our various food choices. I recommend enjoying the magic of being transported by Chef Tamaru, and delightful Carolina to a culinary heaven as often as possible!
