Best French American Restaurants in Covington

Went to Sunday Brunch, which is a favorite time to visit BrewRiver. Mike our server was attentive without rushing us to get him our order. I love the Gumbo here an getting with the Poutine and egg was excellent. My dining partners had the BLT+E and the Chicken and Waffles, both entry's received excellent reviews from them. The pitcher on Mimosa's is a bargain and too large for three people but we gave it a good effort. I love BrewRiver and it is on my short list of Restaurants on the Eastside.

The restaurant enjoys a truly remarkable location, offering beautiful views of Cincinnati and the Ohio River. The fish is consistently of good quality, and the staff is attentive and kind. These strengths make it a reliable and pleasant dining experience. That said, the restaurant has untapped potential. A simple refresh of the interior and a more creative, globally inspired seafood menu—drawing from Mediterranean and Asian influences, for example—could elevate the experience significantly and make it truly exceptional.

We chose Le Bar a Boeuf for a Wednesday evening birthday celebration. It was very quiet, just as we had hoped and the choice of entree worked out well for 2 of the 3 of us....the 3rd person found the fish entree - the evening special - dry and tasteless. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Jinxii was friendly, enthusiastic and very informative, and the manager was kind when he came over to discuss one of our guest's food allergies. The meal was superbly presented and delicious as always! We would highly recommend Alara to anyone interested in fine dining!
