- MMilanBrighton •3 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe sat outside on a very small terrace. Although they weren’t aware of our booking, we sat down and the table was set up swiftly. The server was polite and courteous. The restaurant was quiet but there was a small function happening which started before we came in so we were informed of a possible delay we were fine with. The menu was surprisingly comprehensive and a lot of voices to choose from. We had chicken lollipops and prosciutto with burrata to start. Both were very tasty, the only downside were tinned peaches instead of fresh used in the dish (they are in season!!). Nevertheless the food was tasty. For the main we ordered sea bass and chicken tikka. Again both were tasty and hot. The plates were good portions. Unfortunately we didn’t get to taste the desserts. The dishes were reasonably priced however the wine menu was somehow limited. The only issue we experienced was with wine. We ordered a bottle at the bar however the server couldn’t open it. After we managed to find a corkscrew (which I had to identify by non the back of the bar) I had to open it myself as the server has never done it. Train your bar staff the basics for god sake! Then we ordered another bottle at the table which has arrived and was put in the ice bucket corked. When we asked for it to be opened, we waited for 20 minutes for probably the only person in the hotel who could open it. Small issue you would say but the absolute basic in my opinion. You’re the hotel, have bar, sell wine - train your staff on how to open a bottle - simples! I even had to open a bottle at the bar for another guest - slightly embarrassing for somebody who sells it and adds a service charge to it!!More infoKing & Lamb at Stoke PlacePrice: Expensive• British• Slough•4.7
