Best English Restaurants in Alderley Edge

The hotel public areas are beautifully renovated, retaining the grandeur of the building. V & A Restaurant is spaciously laid out. The seating we had was huge and comfortable, but exceedingly heavy to move and too low for the table. The artwork is large, but questionable. Some of our party were late, which the staff dealt with kindly and wished the fathers in the group a happy Father’s Day. Unfortunately the service was terribly slow, despite there only being one other table occupied and already served, meaning that I had to leave between courses to move the car from the paid for car park. It took over two hours to serve and eat two courses: we ran out of time to have a coffee and had to ask for the bill with dessert. The food was really good; generous and stylishly presented. They presented a greeting in chocolate sauce and strawberries with the desserts. It was quiet and airy; which we enjoyed.

Always a pleasure to eat here, great food and service, such a good place to take family and friends.

Sandwich a little dry and too much lemon in the tuna, not up to usual standards

We spent a most enjoyable Sunday afternoon on the terrace. A DJ played fantastic chilled vibes, the sun was out and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had the crumpet with Morecambe bay prawns and crispy leaks to start which was gorgeous. We then opted for the Sunday lunch sharing board which included a substantial selection of pork, beef and chicken with lovely veg and the biggest Yorkshire puddings we've ever seen ! The cabbage was beautiful and served in its own bowl so was lovely and hot too. The beef was too rare for us but next time I will request it is well done which is an option we didn't take. I would suggest sticking to your own plate if you go for the roast option as the serving board did affect the serving temperature. We felt it was really good value for money and will certainly return.

Saturday night and was only us and one other table. Service was quick and professional and the food was delicious. Overall very happy
